A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GSX1100EF Best 110/90-16 Tyre

I?ve been using Bridgestone Battlax BT 45 tires for years.
Aggressive riders seem to have a dislike for them, but I?m not overly aggressive in my riding, so no issues here.

Yep, those are the two best out of the few (only four, actually) available and they have matching rear sizes.

I'd definitely avoid the Metzeler Lasertec -- expensive, short-lived, and terrible performance as it wears.

There's also a Continental model available; I don't really know much about it, or whether a matching rear is available.

Personally, I'd get the Pirelli Sport Demon.

The Lasertec was the best over all on my GS1150EFE, but not worth the extra $. I have had everything available on the 1150 over the years and the worst feeling tire was the Michelin. The shortest lived was the Pirelli
The front tire, no matter what brand, has a pretty short life on the 1150. ........5500 to 6500 miles, or about 1 front to 2 rears.
the front cups more than my other bikes and the first clue the tire is going away is head shake that gets worse as the tire wears out.
I cheaped out last year and put a pair of Shinkos on it as I dont ride it that much anymore. The tires will likely age out before they wear out...(120/80 16 frt and 130/90 17 rr)
We'll see how they wear, the bike handles great.( for a 35 yr old dinosaur )

the worst feeling tire was the Michelin.

That's funny as I my favorite was the Michelin Macadam, no longer available. Had a BT45, didn't like it, vague feedback.
Currently have a Sport Demon up front, not sure I like it, the profile is very bulbous round. Might have to a try a Continental if they make a 110.
A Continental Super Twin tire saved me 35 years ago when I came in way too hot on a decreasing radius right hander near Mt. St. Helens.
