A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wanted to see if anyone was able to get one into the US and registered. I have K0 model that I picked up when I was stationed in Japan and lets just say its complete, but disassembled, I’d like to get it back together this summer and registered if possible. I believe its old enough to be imported. Any help is appreciated.

Just google "how to import a motorcycle" X off where they're trying to sell the book, then start reading, Looks like the reading may take quite a while, but worth it, looks like a lot of stuff has got to be done, and done correctly. That'd be like having one of them Canadian General Motors Acadian, 1/2 Chevy 1/2 Pontiac, Beaumonts or Cansos down here in the states. You'd probably never see another Good luck,

Friend imported one to Vancouver...says he'll sell it to me when he's ready :)

This is a "Wes Cooley" one sold only in Japan....Wes told me he actually got paid royalties for this one :)

Beautiful motorcycle, and dang, there's a pair of shocks back there. I've not kept up with new bikes much, but never would have thought that bike, in 2003, would still have twin rear shocks, I thought the mono's were on everything by then, Oh, except Harleys.

How does this compare to the B King, which I understand to be a naked Busa?

For me, the GSX1400 "looks" waaay less crotch-rockety than the B-King. I think I could be comfortable on a GSX1400, Don't think the same for the B-King.

Is horsepower the only deciding factor? I thought the question was more concerned with the overall riding experience.

Yep, for me riding is a completely different experience 40 yrs ago, at 29, than today at 69. Yes back then, and if i's in my 20's again, HP was everything. Today, plenty of torque is a must, but HP?, I rarely feel it.

Not at all. Some of the most fun I've had was at the bars of a low-hp bike. Of course I have had tons of fun at the controls of high-hp bikes too.

The GSX1400 and B-King are both awesome, but it's doubtful that many people would have cross-shopped the two when new. They're very different machines for very different riders. For me, had the 1400 been available here I'd likely have had a couple by now... they'd have been cool to own alongside the two B-Kings that have passed through my garage. ;)

B King is a seriously wide motorcycle. I only sat on one in a showroom but that tank felt excessively wide to me.
