A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello all,

So i recently replaced my headlight bulb and put a new tach unit on my '82 gs 850GL. The hi beam indicator worked before the change, but now it doesn't. I probably broke a connection along the, but cannot find it for the life of me. What could cause the following situation:
Hi beam indicator lamp does not illuminate, but all other signals are functional. Light works fine, both high and low. I know that the indicator bulb is good, tested.
any suggestions?

The bullet connector could have pulled out, they do that. I would test the wire itself to see if you are getting ~12v. If not, you'll have to work backwards through the harness.
Since we have no clue as to what bike it is, is the bulb located in the tach assembly itself?

Edited my post to show bike year, '82 GS850GL. I will start working backwards with a meter. Bulb fits into tach, but pulls out as part of three bulb part for oil indicator, beam indicator, and tach lighting.
