A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was just reading feelerguagephil's thread (On Patrol). He said he stopped a guy on a GS 850 that has 120,000 miles on it. It got me to thinking how many miles other members have on theres. My 1980 GS 1000L has 26,625 miles and it still looks and runs like new.

80 gs550.... odometer says 25k, but it isn't orginal, so who knows how many it really has...

The S has around 30K

The E has just under 12K......and will be for sale in the spring........unless
someone has cash now?

...and like Pete says...I might have CASH too! (just not enough... )

80 GS850G 61 thousand miles. Got it in 94 with 35 thou.
Running strong, only major engine work has been head gasket and replacing float bowl valves & screens.

The GS shafties are great. Have not had to deal with a chain since 1982. ( first bike in 1979 was chain, blahh)

Pictures on web page.

82 GS11100GK is about to turn over 25K. Only had 18K when I got it in April '03. Hopefully I'll get to the paint over Christmas and then it will look like new. Gotta find something for my son but I think an 1100 might be too much for a 16 year old regardless how respomsible he/she is.

and miles to go.....

and miles to go.....

The 84 1150ES has 24,233....some with dragstrip time, a quarter mile at a time.
The wifes run down & out 80 850 shaftie has 57,150
The recently acquired 79 1000 project has appx. 34K
happy riding.
Rick.....

My 1980 GS1100e has 58K and the 1981 GS750e has 14K...they have not even had the oil/filter changed in them from the dealership when new

The 750 has 20,500 miles, about 11k of which are mine, put on since April. The bike still seems brand new to me, it's just, like, perfect! The 550 has 37k, I put about 10 on it. It also runs great, but not like the 750. I also need to put a new R/R in it and go over the wiring before I let it out the door.

I have 11,682 miles on mine. I've put about 1,800 on it since I bought it in August.

Over 254,000 miles. I didn't have a speedo cable for a while...

Hap

My 81 has about 43,000 on it. No major engine work, but a lot of other misc. work on electrical, body and brakes, ect.

The 83 has a little over 16,000 on it. Looks and rides fantastic. I'm going through the head this winter just to be safe and in anticipation of next summers ride to the convention. Could be a 3000 mile trip!

Just turned 35,500 miles.
The little extra trip to Florida sure helped those numbers 8O 8) 8) 8)
