If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I found a 1983 GS750ED

I am envious Trevor. I too had a GS750E new from Mcbrides when I was 18. I put over 100k on it and loved all of it. I still think it is one of the best looking bikes around and one day will find a silver one. I will be interested to hear your ride report. I recall it being a hard accelerating, great handling machine, but that was almost 40 years ago! Please forgive my Lame attempt at posting a pic from 1984. Good luck with that sweet GS750E.

Just realized...you're smoking that rear tire, aren't you? Don't Bogart...:p

Got out for a good shake down ride today...running great! Built a little make shift paint booth in my garage today to paint my old school Yosh exhaust today ...a happy day. :)

IIRC, that's a special build that had a feature in Motorcyclist(?) Could have been another magazine

A bit of poking around finds its a Yoshimura series 8 header with a race muffler

Showing the bike some love....it was smoking on start up because of dried out valve seals...so replacing those and the rings while open.
Also taking advantage and cleaning up the valve cover etc ....I'm going to clean up the original exhaust and put them away and install my Yoshimura exhaust. Also converting the clip ons to super bike bars.
Some pics

Trevor, covers look great. After the polishing, do you apply any kind of clear coat, or just keep after it, so they don’t get grungy again?

Just wondering if found a good way of changing from clip-on's to the superbike clamp type bars? Thinking there may be an upper triple clamp, from another bike that may work, but which one???. Those universal aftermarket ones are probably OK, but don't look orig.

Thanks,
No clear coat...don't want the same thing to happen again. I just stay at them...but it's really not much work....once a year with autosol

I have already had some paint mixed up for it...low gloss black...wait for it.....Harley Davidson black engine paint it says on the label...lol

Yikes, don't do that to a Suzuki.

Update....clip ons converted to super bike bars, Yoshi exhaust cleaned up, new rings and valve seals... Getting close

That 750 is lookin' great! As is your garage...and is that a new helmet? Lol

Ed

Clean, sharp looking set-up on the bar conversion, Trevor.
The new stance has to be easier on the wrists and shoulders.
Was it a kit or did you source individual parts?

I bought the bars from Biltwell....the risers are just off an old xs650 that my mechanic had in his garage. :) I thought I might buy something more substantial later but I kinda like the simple look. And yes, way more comfortable.
