Was running errands, sound from down low like a sidestand not fully up, was up, do the last errand, and the sound gets more apparent. A hundred yards up the road, clearly there is lessening drive to the rear wheel, and then no drive to the rear wheel. The 'graunching' sound doesn't get any louder, nor does it sound really 'gnashy' and horrible, but obviously not right, and obviously involves the lack of drive. Sounds like gear teeth not meshing very well, and then not at all. Also sounds like it's coming from the output shaft bevel gear area, tending to represent a 'visual' of the bevel gears not meshing with the prop shaft bevel gear. Among the possibilities, could it be as simple as a loosened nut in the area, or a clutch hub nut (long shot) not holding, never mind, service manual tells me no dice, wrong shaft.
Ok- any of you good folks have a similar experience, and could guide me in some direction so that I know what I'm in store for? Hopefully I've provided enough info that might relate to somebody's previous experience, anyway.
Now I've got to push the %^%$&&*er home a mile or so to get it on to my awesome HF bike lift, and start further investigation. And it's not downhill,
EITHER!! If you don't hear back, I've croaked!!

. No truck, either!!
