A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Icefields Parkway Run

ill post em all up, but this pic is my favorite from the mountain run.
this road was empty except for us and was over40kms of hard 90's, s-bends and a couple hairpins separated by straights long enough to get up to speeds far beyond the legal limit.
after a misjudged and very hard (for the speed i was going) left curve i staightened my bike up, looked to my right was SO BLOWN AWAY that i actually forgot i was on a bike, and wrestled with a hard wobble (from pretty much not holding the bars) to keep from dumping the bike.
this is along Maligne lake road, i believe this is williams lake.

Glad to hear that you're alive and well Tank. Welcome back, and good luck getting your computing issues sorted out. :)

this picture is out of order too. this is the GPS alt. we were at after climbing up 7kms of goat trail that started at the very end of maligne lake road.
whoever said the GS would run like balls at high altitude, doesn't know sheit.
mine ran perfect at 7100ft.
The mountain town of jasper is 3400ft to give a comparison.
we went from looking UP at the mountain peaks, to looking ACROSS at the peaks.
last pic was taken just below the peak of the Bald Mountains.
We rode the entire way down in neutral with our bikes shut off.
it was more awesome coasting down the mountain side than any words i could think of to try and describe it.
also, this was the highest alt at which we rode, beating the infamous Bow Summit Pass (6800ft, highest point of highway along the icefields) by 300ft

The CV carbs run very well at any elevation. VM carbs, not so much.

Sounds like a great road trip, glad you didn't get eaten by bears or something.

Looking out for one another is what make this place one of the best.Happy to see you back posting.Doubly with pics like that!

Ok, lets see if i can finish this thread off.

Day two we left Edson Ab for Jasper.
Just after leaving Edson we got our first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains.
Hard to see in the picture though, they are the faint line just above the trees on the horizon.

This next pic is our second glimps at the mountains just before getting into Hinton AB. Can't really tell from the picture, but looking at them from here really give you a feeling of just how huge these rocks are, lol.

This little peak was small compared to any others we saw, but it was the first one we passed so I snapped a picture.

We stopped for lunch in Hinton, but never took any pictures.
I think we just wanted to get to Jasper ASAP.

This picture is the entry gate into Jasper National Park.

We met this guy Luke when we stopped for a rest at the gate for the park.
He was headed to some legendary trail along the BC coast.
Between the milk crate panniers and Pony Boy riding a 250cc bike he thought we were nuts.
Although he did say he was going to get milk crates for his bike, as his luggage set cost several hundreds dollars, didn't hold as much as mine, and he'd already repaired them a couple times.
He was riding a very nice KTM.
