A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

they looked awesome, but it wouldn't stay running. really bummed me out.Yea but do they look good?![]()
i did oil them. probally too muchDid you oil them ? If you didn't they will be too free flowing.
Pods can be a problem as they are generally not restrictive enough. The Cheap emgo types seem to be the worst as there is really no restriction. To solve this problem, you can add some foam filter to the insides of the pod. What I do is get either a "furnace" filter to cut up. Cut a piece as deep as the interior of the pod and about the same width as the interior diameter. Roll it into a tube and stuff it inside.
If you do go to pods, the K&Ns are really the best with UNis being second. The emgos will work fine with the mod I suggest.
I don't know how well pods really work but they do help the engine sound better at least
Good luck with them.
Cheers,
Spyug
there was already pods on the bike from the po. they was the emgo type. i just wanted to upgrade the pods and no luck.Unless you rejet it will not idle or start very easy regardless of what type of pods you installed. RE-JETTING IS A MUST
K&N filters and a K&N jet kit make it easier

i agree, i posted in ingorance. me and a friend of mine was having trouble and we got it figuired out. sorry for the post before the facts. in fact i am putting the uni"s back on w/ a 4 into 1 exhaust here really soon. What filters did you take off the bike? It's not the filters causing your problem. It just needs jetted properly. Yes, individual filters will take longer to get right than an airbox. If your willing to spend the time, you can jet K&N's Uni's or even open velocity stacks correctly.
Here's what I am running on my 77 750. (yes, I know I am sandblasting the engine when I ride)
