As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

K&S turn signal for a '79 GS1000

kochic

Forum Mentor
I'm looking for a complete set of turn signal in better shape than the one I have, all the ones on my parts bikes are almost in same condition or in worse shape.
K&S state in their catalog than they are OEM copy.
It is true?
Thanks,
Marc

Yes and no. They say the same thing about 78 1000. I have them and instead of being the completely round stems they are the ones with the flat side to them. Other then that detail they are awesome.

Are they in metal like the OEM with the flat side?
Edit: I have round stem plastic on my GS, I just found 2 cast turn signals with the flattened stem in a bin box.

Unless I'm mistaken, the original signals are chrome plated plastic. The K&S signals are cast zinc, with a skinnier stem than the OEM jobbies. I didn't like them and preferred the OEM parts.

That's surprising. I've used several of the K&S signals over the yrs. for several different bikes Suzuki, Honda, & Kawasaki, but not for a GS1000, All looked exactly the same as OEM. Only difference I'd remembered was the wires were not color coded as OEM.

I always thought that the ones casted with the flattened stem were for the GT. What I have on my GS is plastic round stem, I have not measured them but they look all the same front and rear. Maybe just new lenses will do...

My bike is newer, but regarding K&S, I was impressed. A darn near exact knockoff for my 1150. I even swapped on my original good condition lenses with no problems.

I have K&S turn signals on my KZ and they are very cheaply made. The bulb socket in particular is, frankly, junk. They look just like the original's, but not on the inside. They also don't have any anti-rotation feature in this application. They are just a fraction of the cost of OEM, though, so that part is in their favor.

I received the turns signals Monday, these are not an exact copy but they look OK.Good for a runner but not a restoration.
