All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

leaking fuel *help*

Good news / Bad news

The tank is back on. No leaks. So this was not much of a learning experience. Cant explain why pulling the bowls would have gone from "serious leak" to "back to normal".

Oh well, thanks again guys for the conversation.......

I hate when that happens! Sure, you got it fixed but aren't sure what you did to fix it. Remember, when it doubt, ALIENS!

So..... 20 days ago it was not dripping a drop. Really have not started it since. Today, Dripping again like a leaky rain gutter ! Yes, The petcock is working. only drips on PRI. Im gonna rule out the T cause the drips appear to start above it and the new hose. Looks like its somewhere above the bowls or even the intake tubes. You can kinda see in the vid its even on the front rail (angle?) Frustrating !! I rode it for about 10 minutes but it didnt slow down.....

Fuel Tee and/or fuel transfer tube O-rings would be my guess. The O-rings on those parts come into contact with outside air and petrify after 30 years. They swell when gas comes in contact with them which is why they stopped leaking before but started again 30 days later.

I had the tank off anyway so I ran about 6oz of straight seafom into the carbs then shut it off overnight. Tonight after work I went for a ride to burn the seafoam out and when I got back (15min) ..........no leaks.

That video looks just like the carbs leaking on my CB1100F after sitting for the winter or a few weeks. but so far, after 20 min. or so they stop until it sits long enough for the "O" rings to dry out again. As long as it gets started every few wks. no leak, guessing keeping the "O" rings wet is a solution, not really the fix. Couldn't promise that is the problem as I haven't fixed it, but just haven't come up with any other ideas.
