I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Small mini LED tail light/brakelight/sigs/plate light on the 850. All works fine and is wired correctly for all to as it is supposed to.
The only problem, the tail light itself is too dim. The headlight is switched.. While on ir really pulls a lot of current from the tail light.
Is there anything I can do to increase the power to the tail light itself?

Steve??

you could run a direct line from the battery and just combine it with the current set up via a twist connector.

Hi,

LED lighting is not supposed to draw much current. If your incandescent tail light bulb is dim I would suggest cleaning your wiring harness connections and grounds, blinker stalk grounds, sockets (re-solder connections, etc), clean the fuse box, etc.

I actually replaced my tail light with a Superbright LED 1157-style 5 watt Luxeon bulb. It's really bright and draws little power. You can start at www.superbrightleds.com but there are other vendors.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Basscliff; I think he means that when he switches his headlight on, the led tail light looses alot of power. Is this a correct interpretation of the issue, Octain??? I'm not sure of a solution to this, just wanted to clarify so others can offer the correct advice.

Run power to it via a fused relay. Use original wire as the switching wire. I suspect it's not receiving enough volts as that has a big impact on LED brightness.

Yup!
I already did as Salty Monk suggested.

I can still see a drawl on the power but about 50% less.
Works much better.

Thanks for the replies fellas!

It may be pointless but how many amps is your headlight drawing? It could need better grounding or a cleaner wire path to draw less and hence pull less away from your tailight.
I learned this lesson with a dragging starter ina truck I had. When the current doesn't have a clean path the amperage draw goes way up. Put your amp tester on your headlight and compare with others or just check the wiring connections to the headlight.

Just my .02 hope it helps
