I will have 3 bikes that can all use the same size standard battery. They all will need a battery eventually. They are not everyday drivers but not garage queens either. I would like to buy 1 battery and swap it when necessary. 2 of the bikes, weight is no issue. 1 bike, I'm trying to shave as much weight as easily as possible without going exotic.Trying to find an answer from a member not a retailer trying to sell me something. Staying with a conventual type battery is fine too, but if the Lithium-Ion saves me more grief than it causes, now is the time to change.

I've read way to much and every answer seems different. Bottomline...Can a good quality (please state brand name) Lithium-Ion battery be used in Suzuki GS series bike that has a updated SH775 Reg/Rectifier/Triumph harness or to I need a Reg/Rectifier specifically for a Lithium-Ion battery?

Battery chargers. Same problem, same half dozen different answers. The answer I liked is probably wrong knowing my luck. It stated, leave the battery alone, no trickle charging like a conventional battery. When you need it and it's been sitting for a period of time, charge it with a conventional trickle charger for about an hour or so. Does one need a Lithium-ion only charger? Or is there a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) ? Thank you for your efforts!

I never figured out how to ride both my bikes at the same time, but I surely started them together. (I have 4 guitars, and they each have their own strings. :emmersed

I never thought of battery sharing, but with it being virtually unremovable in the 11EZ, that wouldn't have worked. I would think moving an old style hunk of lead would get old very fast, so I agree with looking into the new lightweight technology.

A lithium ion battery should have a battery management system that is a charge controller built in to make sure the cells stay balanced and you don't overcharge or over-deplete it. Depending on that controller, you should be able to just put a voltage on it and it'll charge. A stupid charge controller might not know how to limit input current, so it's going to depend on the battery pack how you should charge it. Anything sold for a bike should be able to take whatever the a stock charging system would throw at it, but this is just me discussing theory acquired from other arenas that use these modern rechargeable. I don't have a recommendation. I've been considering using one of these too, mainly for the longevity. I'll probably just grab another AGM this winter because of the cost.

I am using a lithium ion battery on my bike for the last 3 years and i have a Ricks lithium ion spesific R/R installed on it. No problems whatsoever super light battery compared to conventional ones and very strong also. Oh the brand is Skyrich btw

What about winter non-use period? Don't care about colder cranking amps going severely down in winter cause I don't ride my old stuff below 50 degrees. can they stay outside(garaged) in -10F. Sounds like a normal charger will work, but don't leave it on all the time as I do now. Almost sounds like just stick with AGM. I can get good prices from a friend who works in a dealership any way.
