A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Made these "side" tool pouches

I've wanted to get some kind of saddlebags for my Suzuki since in the past when I wanted to carry anything that wouldn't fit in my pockets I had to rig this pouch thing I had on top of the passenger seat with bungee cords. It didn't look good, wasn't very secure and didn't carry much either.
Anyway, I've gotten into leatherwork for the past couple years and make/sell belts and bootstraps things like that. I've made a couple of smaller tool pouches for mopeds but nothing substantial.

So I made these up this week. They are veg. tanned 9oz cowhide and hand cut/dyed/assembled etc. I don't think I want to commit to full sized saddle bags unless I was going on a trip and I think a pair of these would be a good alternative.
I think I'll be keeping one of them, selling or trading the other with a friend and making a bunch more in the future.

Let me know what you think!

Looks great! I wouldn't mind putting it on my bikes. Not to big. But perfect for what I carry

my local flea market has puches almost the same for $25 mind you there pleather !!! i have 2 of them on my 650 , very handy for tools etc , will hold 2 small medium double doubles coffees from tim horton .. hahaha :)
nice job !!

Thanks! In the picture I just had them on with zipties to see how they looked but I have them fastened with leather straps now. Yeah somebody could still come along and unbuckle or cut them off but hopefully the patina (rust) of the rest of the bike will make them think its not worth their while.

Also made this since I never had the right side cover.

That is actually very clever!

It seems like a lot of these old bikes are missing the side covers, (and it make them look like Junkers) so that is a great way to turn a lemon into lemonade.

+1 , sam000lee!
a very Elegant solution! and that spike collar brace on mufflers ? is very cool too. Your Ideas are good enough to steal too ! :)

The spikey strap isn't holding anything up! Just thought it looked cool.
And the "side cover" is perfect for holding my registration, phone, etc.
