I would look at the wires going to the ignition switch they move a lot and they can get breaks in them because of that. On my EX500 i had a broken wire that was in the middle of the sub loom where it connected to the main loom all i had to do to find it was disconnect the ignition from the loom and carefully cut off the plastic wrap and i felt along each wire till i felt a part that wasnt as stiff as it should have been i cut open that wire cleaned off some of the sheathing around the break and then soldered the wire together and re-wrapped the sub loom. I havent had a problem since and my symptoms are pretty similar to what you have.
