A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I got the Stainless ones and fitted them.

They are very good quality & easy to fit, the bolts included aren't stainless though which is a P*ss take at 70 bucks....

They work ok, they certainly damp some vibration unfortunately they make my brake lever "ring" at around 3-4k.

All in I'll keep them cause they look nice & seem to even out the high speed vibration.

Anyone tried putting a felt washer or Nylon or something into their brake lever to take out the slack?

Anyone know if the lever just comes right out if you take out the pivot bolt or is there more to it than that?

I have about 0.5mm of slack, not excessive. "nipping" the bolt up does nothing to change it.

I guess changing the weight or maybe the position of the lever would probably stop the vibe or make it vibrate at a diff rpm too.

Regular washer, or nylon will work. Hard to find just the right thickness.

Thanks! I'm seriously considering a set of these for my VX800, which has a good amount of v-twin shaking.

That's pretty crappy that they couldn't be arsed to supply a stainless bolt. I ride in bad weather a lot, so anything that's not stainless or cadmium coated starts looking bad quickly.

You could just sand down a nylon washer to tighten up the pivot just the right amount. Might cost you 10 cents or so.

This pivot needs to be fairly loose for obvious reasons, so be vewwy vewwy careful...

You might also add a "lever skin" to alter the weight of the lever a bit and change the resonant frequency. I've seen these in a durable foam and in rubber. I didn't like the feel of these, personally.

Or maybe some leather lever covers, with a couple of feet of fringe for maximum flap factor. No?
