Hello members just wondering if any one out there has installed new mirrors on their Daytona bars. I installed some they look great now my shoulder block my rear view in the mirrors. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thank you

Sounds like you need narrower shoulders or mirrors with longer stalks.

.

The stock mirrors work great on my Daytona bars on my GS850G, and I'm one of The Large.

Another vote for bar ends, the bike needed mirrors and bar ends.Seemed the best solution all around.

I have bar ends on my superbike bars, almost the same as daytona, and they work great.:dancing:

Bar ends are great for visibility if you get large enough mirrors but they make it more difficult to lane split.

I did not think of this. So what is the solution? Hmmm

Get Napoleon bar end mirrors. They'll make your bike 4 " wider on each side. Really, is lane splitting so much an essential part of your riding style that you'd make a choice based on it? Once you get the mirrors on, you'll want to drive with the flow of traffic anyways so people can admire your smokin' mirrors!

Where I live traffic is a bear all the time. So cal. I do it at about ten miles over traffic but that save me alot of time. I need to be able to lane split. I did not think change bars would make getting mirrors that allow me to see rear would be difficult.

Same here on my GS1000, they just plain work. No offense meant, but why try to over think a problem that was solved more than 30 years ago? If you're going to be lane splitting some styles of bar ends could be a little problematic.

What do you mean they work? The mirrors on my bike still reflect images however i am only seeing my shoulders these days.

Under and forward of the bars is a great place for the mirrors, no shoulders in the way, perfect view, they don't stick out at all. Several fully faired bikes do this. I have been trying to figure out how to do it on a naked bike, not got any good ideas yet. Might have to fab up a mirror mount that goes on the fork or something.

It looks like quite a few here don't have a problem with the stock mirrors. There were short and long stem varieties available, maybe yours are the short stems version. I know the frustration, I rode with an "S" fairing and mirrors for a few years, truly awful.

Actually took the bike our to take care of some things and adjusted the stems a bit and then the mirrors and I could actually see behind my self. Wohoo. Not much but enough.
