I have been wanting to upgrade the wheels on my 1980 GS1000E for a few years now but wanted to keep everything else stock wherever possible.
I want lighter wheels and from the factory "tubeless" rims.
I currently have a GS1100 aluminum swingarm on the bike.
I have read that a Bandit 600 wheel will bolt right up in the front and the rear will align with a GS500 twin sproket carrier. Not certain what years however...
Other than that, I am pretty unsure about the rest of the conversion.
For this setup will I need new disks and calipers? Will I need Salty Monk's mounting brackets? Spacers?
Just wondering if anybody has done this and can confirm before I start looking for parts.
Thanks in advance.
