MTC 1425 Bigblock is Here !!!

Was going the nitrous route next year to get in the 5's, but came across this bigblock and it is cheaper than a new nitrous kit.

So come this winter I'll be installing the race cut tranny and getting the upper case bored out.

Looks like I'll make my goal of running into the 5's for 2005. My 1166 kit picked up 7 tenth's so what do you think a 1425 kit can do???

Can't wait until next year and will see what it can do. I'm thinking of not using wheelie bars at first just to see how she will run.

I'll still use it at a later date. My thinking is that I should be able to get into the 5's without it, and when I do run it, it will knock off 2-3 tenth's more.

As for the crank I'm afraid to even touch it. Must have close to 1000 runs on her by now and it still ticking like a Timex. But I guess I should do it.

I think if you miss a shift or two with the added mass you may twist her for sure.

Yeah, I'd like to make it my little shootout bike without bars running in the 5's.

When I get serious, that's when the bars go back on.

I'm thinking of keeping max RPM at 9K just to be safe.

I 'M THINKING OF THE 9k MAX FOR MY STREET ENGINE TOO JAKE.

But in what range do your cams seem to do the most work??
Or doyou degree them for the torque in that range??

I would def lower the RPM limit maybe even to 8.5K You will have a lot more weight swinging around. You may want to thing about some aftermarket rods while it is appart.
Since you have to redo everything why not get another engine

stock rods will be fine for his purpose. I run 5.0s on stock rods. I would definitely get Stan Gardner at GRC to go through it.

Looks great, it's even in better shape than my old 1166 combo. I should be able to get over a thousand runs on her next year. It is even o-ringed.

Last race is this weekend so after that it's tear down time to get it bored.

I think high 5's are in the bag for next year :twisted:

Put the NOS on as well, then it should really fly!

got an r&d 1150 pro cut, $250 tyd no forks or drum. has never missed a gear
