    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 82 1100E has 1135 stamped in the block,,,,

I bought it this way,, does that mean I have 1150 crank and cluch ?? or do 1150 pistons work with 1100 crank ??? also I put 33 smthbores on it and the way its jetted rite now the motor pulls pretty hard through to almost 12000rpm -well into the red .. . am I asking for a blown motor by running it that hard ? should I come down a noch in jetting?

No. If the 1135 is preceeded by "GS110X-" then that's just your serial number and it means you have a 16-valve GS1100.

The way I hear it, no, 1150 pistons don't immediately work with a 1100 crank. I'm no expert, though. There have been other threads lately about this. Look around a bit in Technical Info.

Not quite asking, like a question. It's more like pleading, down on your knees and threatening to club a baby seal if you don't get a problem now, right now. You may have already done permanent damage. You're lucky you haven't thrown a rod.

Couldn't tell ya. If you're basing this on the pulling through 12K rpms, then no, because the two would not be related.
 
Peak power is around 8k, 12k is a waste, you're doing harm, and losing acceleration.

I was mainly just trying to find out if I have the 1150 crank .. maby I should have been clearer in asking the (?) it says 1135cc on the lower front side of the cilynder ... the guy I got it from said it had 1150 stuff, he had to get 1150 base & head gaskets when he rebuilt it. I was told ,if ya got 1150 cilynder and pistons ,then the crank and cluch basket have to be 1150 also.
the guy who told me this seemed kinda full of s--- so, I'm collecting info.

I was told "ring it out", cant hurt it as long as I dont hold it there, I only rung it out once or twice that far .... I can feel the power stop giving as much after @8-9000 but it wants to go well into the red if I let it .. especialy with bigger jetting , 135's , but has a flat spot on the way there, so I went down to 127.5 got rid of the flat spot, and I'm grabing 2nd gear @ 8000 and the rest at around 9000 ......

does that sound about rite to you guys???????????????
 
It does not necessarily mean you have an 1150 crank if you have an 1150 block it is possible to get pistons to fit the block, that will still fit the 18mm gudgeon pins of an 1100 crank.
The only way to know would be to remove the block and measure the size of the gudgeon pins, and even then it does not mean that 1150 conrods were not fitted to n 1100 crank, BTW it is NOT necessary to change the clutch etc if you do fit an 1150 crank.

GS1150 - GS1100

The primary gear on the 1150 crank (that drives the clutch basket) is not the same as the gear on the 1100 crank. You must match the crank and clutch basket. The number of teeth on the gears is slightly different.

The 1150 cylinder is 2mm larger (74mm) than the 1100 cylinder (72mm). You only have to match the piston diameter to the cylinder bore to use either 1100 or 1150 pistons. For example, oversize 1100 pistons will work fine in an 1150 cylinder block. 1150 cylinders can be used in the 1100 cases and vice versa. The 1150 cylinders are more desirable for a performance engine as the sleeves and cylinders are thicker and stronger.

1100s have 18mm wrist pins. 1150s have 20mm wrist pins. You have to match the piston to the wrist pin size of the crank. Either crank will fit into either type of cases.

1150 heads fit the 1100 engine if you change to the 1150 cylinder studs (and vice versa for the 1100 head on an 1150 engine.
