A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I showed Chris this picture and she said " I bet you could make more room for your bike in there" and I thought Oh I can get some more..."No! More space to work on the ones I have....

Good eye there. I need to focus on basics for now. Thanks for the offer!
You can PM me with anything you may need,I'll have it or not.The broken view port on the MC can be replaced with a watch crystal the right size.Don't have a MC if it's beyond repair:(

The fellow I bought the bike from called me Wednesday and said he found the key and the license plate. He was coming down my way from Central Point, Oregon and I met him and picked up the items. Note the "fits Honda" (WTF!)

The key worked on all locks! I drained the gas..

Looks the color of fine whiskey. Not much crud came out.

I don't think the tank looks that bad. What do you guys think? Will Evapo Rust take that little bit of rust off?

FIxed the frozen rear caliper by bleeding the master cylinder till the fluid ran clear, and freed the brake pedal. Pulled the header so I could change oil. Two dents on the header. Rust and dents on the header not real bed.

Going to order carb boots and O rings....:onthego:

Charlie, you get that one fixed up, and I'll get my red one on the road and we can ride then at the next PNWR.

You have a red one? I need to talk to you about several things...........:-\\\

Well the fact you actually had something in the tank means the bottom hasn't fallen out like mine did. That's a plus. I was going to ride the 1000 to the rally next year but if you and Vince are going to bring the 750's maybe I'll do the same. So Vince, you have one too? No pictures, it doesn't exist.

That fuel will be fine for another few months yet Charlie, stick in another bike and go for it :D

That rust doesn't look too bad, but if it sits too long it will just get worse, no rattly bits when you give it a shake? I'd still be tempted to line it with POR15 and be done with it once and for all.

I've filled tanks like that with vinegar till they're clean and they've been fine with just fuel ever since. As long as there's no rust down in the bottom, what's it look like when you take the fuel float out and look in?

Vinegar? That sounds cheap and mild enough. Don't really want to do any etching, but I would like to get most of the rusty crust. I'm sure the rinse won't do any harm. I didn't open up the float hole as I managed to see down to the top of the petcock and it looked rust free there. I pulled the petcock to drain completely. It wouldn't flow when I put it on prime. I'm tempted to buy a new one. I want to talk to Vince, he has some ideas on refurbishing them, that I want to hear.....

I put in my wife's car.....I don't like Hondas:lol: No rattle bits. What you can see in the aluminium bowl are floating bits from pine tree and such. There were some real fine concentrations and I put them to a manganite and almost nothing stuck to it.

Thanks guys for your input!

1st post....$200.00. I just need to add about $1200 and it will be road worthy, unless I need a rear shock, cables and a paint job:stupid:. That's about what I spent on my 1100g and I wouldn't hesitate riding it over to your place to take a peek a your bikes. Yes a glutton.......? A Disease!

Sounds about right. I'm into my free EF for about $1800cdn. But then it needed a NOS gas tank, some paint and decals other than the usual tires, battery, rubber parts, etc, etc, etc......

I'm having a problem acquiring new boots connecting the carbs to the air box. Three Suzuki suppliers list item #2 no longer available. What are you 83-83 750 owners using for a replacement or how do you make do. Mine are really hard .

I cleaned up this plastic piece that goes on the triple tee and surrounds the ignition switch and noticed it was cut on the upper side and wondered why. I turns out that I don't have factory risers for my handle bars.and that this plastic piece has been altered to allow for these bars to be used.

Notice the silver area to the inside of the fork tubes and where the bars attach.

The forks are set higher on the triple tee so the " clip on" bars can attach to the top of the forks. I'm concerned it will effect the steering and be much lower than I'm use to. I'm not saying I want to get ride of them (clip ons) but I would like to have a stock set to try out first. I would welcome comments.
