If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My new project!

Got the trees blasted and painted. I use Dupli-Color caliper paint for stuff like this. I glass bead then rinse with water, blow dry then use the recommended spray cleaner. It always looks good. Cell phone pics don't show the color well. It's a straight silver. Should get the frame back from the powdercoater this week. Got All-Balls tapered roller neck bearings ready to go in. Might start shopping for SS Allen screws to put it together.

Got the frame back yesterday. Looks really good. Put the new All-Balls tapered rollers in the neck today. Followed the directions for measuring the bearing stack height. It worked, but I wish I had a little more clearance at the bottom bearing. Between the neck and the tree. I used the supplied thin spacer, going with the thicker one would have opened it up a little more. Top pic shows the gap I'm talking about. Bottom pic shows the spacer. Next time I'll throw out the directions and measure it my way.

Frame looks really good. Went with silver for the rear peg mounts. I'd like to leave them off, but they tie in with the swingarm and shifter. I was also planning bronze swingarm bushings, but then I realized these are steel. The low miles on the bike, plus the fact that this will be an off-road bike, led me to just leave 'em alone. Wish the powdercoater had been more careful with my VIN plate.

Has the "other projects" section gone dead? It seems almost as slow as the HondaTwins forum.

I'm still following... unfortunately my little Cucciolo project is just idling away with nothing happening at the moment. Can't seem to get any success getting my shed underway and I can't do much until that's done.

Man, I love how those ss allen heads look. Been getting good prices at Fastenal. Gotta buy lots of 25 or 50, though. On this bike I'm probably only using 10% of what I'm buying. That gives me lots of leftovers for the GS.

The CL's are neat little rides and I like the scrambler much more than the street, low pipe version. I almost bought myself one a couple months back. They seem to be pretty prevalent. Interesting oil filtration system. Finish that little beauty up and lets get it our for a ride. You have some beautiful scenery around semo.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as Pete on my KDX project. On hold waiting to get some $$ for parts.Thrashing to get my 85 750 done and tinkering a little with the 78 1000 leaves little time to worry about the dirt bike right now:(

There's no budget for new shocks on this project, so I did what I'm doing with everything else. I took them apart and glass-beaded them, then hit 'em with some paint if I think they need it. I know the paint on the shocks isn't going to last, especially on the springs. Just can't decide if I like the look. I'll have to have new shocks eventually.

UPS dropped off my new Dunlop 803's today, along with new tubes and rim strips. Don't really need the tires yet, but MCSS was having a tire sale, so I saved a few bucks. Hope that 4.00 fits in the swingarm. The 21 for the front looks like it might just tuck up under the front fender. I'll know soon. Should pick up the chopped-off rear fender from the powder-coater Mon.

I'm doing a lot of ss allen screws on this build. I'd like to use them for the motor mount bolts, and a few other places where stock lengths won't work. Any idea where a guy could get unthreaded ss allens? Small quantities, as I only need 10 or 12.

Now THAT'S a good looking tire/wheel combo. Had a heck of a time getting it on without scratching the finish on the wheel. Had to first grind off the nubs of the new Buchanan spokes. Used the Dremel for that. Then a new rim strip and tube.

So Ray, did you ever finish this guy up or did I miss it? Let's see it!

It's still moving along, very slowly. Been really busy with work. Bought a really nice tank recently on ebay, then discovered it wasn't for a 350. Seller is being good about it, says it was mislabeled accidentally. I'd like to have the engine soda-blasted but can't find a local that does it. Looking for a decent set of rear shocks and recently pulled one off the GS for a test fit. It didn't. My goal is to have it done by Oct, and take it to the Barber Festival.

Well keep plugging away. I want to see this one get done. And before October. I need an excuse to come south and do some riding ;-)

Finding blasting services in MO is a PIA no? I ended up just soaking my engine in some green degreaser stuff for like 4 days and then scrubbed, rinsed, and painted. Turned out ok. I would really love it if someone offered vapor blasting. That is the good stuff.

Just ordered up a pair of Hagon rear shocks. Went slightly longer and fatter than stock. They should raise the rear about an inch. Should look good. Pics when I get 'em installed.
