A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

i don't want to bore you with endless pics of our trip but there are these two that i really need to show. i'm afraid this wasn't really a bike trip but my minivan is extra long and easily carried a gz250 and our camping gear.

so once we arrived at home base (Shenandoah nat'l park and mt. pisgah rec. area) we unloaded and went riding.

that's my wife taking in the scenery with her gz.

riding the blue ridge parkway was a high point of this season for me. there were all sorts of bikes there too. i saw aprilia, ducati, beamers. bikes i rarely see near home in western new york, i guess cuz we po' folk round here. the on/off road dual sport suzuki drz was fairly popular there. i was talking with a guy who rode a honda shadow 750, very nice shafty cruiser. and of course the place was lousy w/ harleys which were annoyingly loud while we were camping.

we covered most of the b.r.p's more than 500 mile length and had a great time although the brakes in my van got smokin hot more than once.

i've decided to try and do the entire parkway on a bike, maybe next year. has anyone done that?

official scoot parking near the swimming hole at campground in mt. rogers national recreation area:

i've never seen this before in a state or national park. it was actually the closest parking to the lake.

Sweet! This is just getting me more excited about the Roo Rally.

Any trouble with traffic?

I-40 in the smokies had construction related traffic jams but the scenery is so nice who cares.
