A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New GS750

Helpful thread, thanks. I'm going to call around some dealers and see if any of them can beat the $18/seal for OEM.

I dunno, replacing them is a real pain... I think I'd pay a few extra dollars to get some OEM's or NOKs just so I knew I did the best I could afford and hopefully not have to worry about it again for a few years.

Revisiting this since I want to upgrade to electric ignition:

If my points look like this:

They are KOK

whereas if they look like this:

They are Nippon Denso, right?

I would agree with your assessment. Mine look exactly like your 2nd picture of the Nippon Denso.

Okay thanks, mine look like the first ones and don't have an "ND" but instead have some kind of square logo that I figured was KOK but wasn't 100%.

Looks like #8 in your parts fiche from the partsoutlaw link.

I didn't catch this the first time around, but wanted to say how much I enjoyed that link about that guy's ride to Alaska!

Quick question - I know this info is out there but "rubber plug" and "half moon" didn't bring anything up. What's the best type of goo to use when replacing the rubber half moon plugs in the cylinder head? Do I just yank the old ones off?

Okay another one. I'm doing some spring maintenance/upgrades for this bike:

- Green Dyna coils to match the ignition
- Fresh plug leads
- CRM
- Welded some exhaust leaks
- New carb boots
- Spark plugs, oil, etc.

And want to get some Hagons to go on the rear. I was on https://www.davequinnmotorcycles.com/ but the contact form is broken and when I email info@davequinnmotorcycles.com it gets kicked back to me. Anybody know how to get in touch with Dave or where else I can get Hagon shocks in the US?

Green coils are good for electronic ignition or Dyna S bikes, with points you want the Black coils.

It seems they are out of bussiness (no longer trading). You may want to try the dealer in Nova Scotia.......?

Just got off the phone with Dave and ordered my Hagons. Really nice guy and super knowledgeable. He's only a state away from me so I should have them by the weekend.

Thought I would just update to share upgrades to my GS750 since I bought it. All with the help of GSR :). Overall, I LOVE this bike! Runs great and would take it across the country (again) tomorrow if I had to.

- Hagon rear shocks and Sonic Fork Springs
- Dyna DS3-1 ignition and Dyna Green cables with a coil relay mod
- SH775 R/R with removed headlight loop
- SS brake lines up front with an aftermarket master cylinder
- Dunlop K70's front and back
- New O-rings, carbs dunked, etc. replaced intake and airbox boots with OEM
- Throttle + Clutch cables
- Oil changed every 3k miles
- New X-ring chain and front + rear sprockets
- Valve adjustments every 3k miles
- Welded up a couple of small patch holes on the underside of the exhaust

27k miles on the clock and running strong!
