All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi All,

I'm back again with another GS1100 so i guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

About 2 years ago, I was given a G model after a friend of mine moved out of state so I figured I'd bring it back to life and make a nice little bobber/cruiser.

I picked it up looking like this:

Then I was able to turn it into this:

Although i liked it, I really wanted an E model. After about 7 months of searching, i was able to find a E model that was in acceptable shape.

This time, I plan on throwing the kitchen sink at it. I want to make a modern classic inspired track/race bike. USD forks, Bandit 12 rear, big bore, cams, modern wheels and tires, etc. The bike currently is not running and it looks like the previous owner was having electrical issues so i'm in the process of replacing the entire electrical system with a M Unit and all new wires, coils, stator, reg/rec, starter relay.

I'll start a build thread once i have a running bike. Thanks for having me back.

Welcome back.

Hey, I see a Michigan plate there.

Hey, is that an early 80s vette?

FYI: that 1100G is actaully a 1100GK.
But about the only thing different than 1100G anymore would be the front forks, the tripple tree and front fender.

Do update on the E project.

.

Welcome back Aaron. Live a restomod GS. Looking forward to following along.
Dave, the Vette is early 70 at the latest. I think ‘73 was the last of the flat back panel style.

Do not lose that luggage rack. Hard to find item.

I'll actually end up selling a fair amount of the OEM parts; front end, essentially the entire rear end including the tail section, and of course the luggage rack.

Selling a fair amount of OEM parts... Good for the GS world to save all the parts you can. Welcome back
