A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey there! So excited to find this Forum.... holy cow been doing some reading and there a ton of expert level info here so thanks!

I have an 1981 GS1100E I'm restoring / upgrading / cafe racer etc. Not new to bikes. In 1991 (19 years old) I had a 1989 GSXR1100... thank god I survived that monster. But always wanted an 80-83 GS1100E as my dads buddy had one and never got over it. I've been restoring 65 mustangs for years and this is my first bike resto... so some possible dumb questions coming your way... but I'll make sure I read as many posts before asking :-)

Looking forward to learning about and building this beast. Plans are for a performance engine build... while maintaining the retro looks with some obvious safety (brakes, maybe forks) upgrades. Very similar to my mustang (she runs low 11's but is streetable and safe but still looks and feels 1965). Considering GSXR upgrades but also dont want to take away from the vintage look and feel of this bike... its always a balance.

great to be here!

Welcome aboard, Thor.
Good looking bikes with some nice upgrades already. The steel brake lines, oil cooler, louder horn and i like the sound of the Supertrapp systems.
Lots of BC owners on the site.

Hi Thordane! Gee, you're just up the sound from me. A Suzuki as nice as that- I'll definitely keep an eye out and flag you down somewhere's.... I guess you know to visit Jack's on Ryan rd the odd time in case he gets an old Suzuki in....and watch out for the salt if you take her out for a rideabout this winter. These Suzukis dissolve quickly with a bit of salty road-dust....

Welcome! Nice looking GS. You might want to cover up that Harley in any future pics, as there are many Harley haters wandering around this site!:eek:Just kidding!

Thanks! And I absolutely love your GS... very similar build to what Im going to do..... curious are those Bandit forks? Ive researched endlessly and still undecided what forks to upgrade too.

great to hear from you Gorminrider... yes ive been told about Jack's ... will have to head there for a visit. Im looking for someone to rebuild and performance modify the GS. yes, winter is upon us!

The gold forks are from a 04 GSXR 1000. Lots of folks use the Bandit 1200 forks because they are a similar length as the stock GS forks and maintain a stock-ish appearance while allowing you to run a 17" front wheel, radial front tire, and better brakes.
