    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

G'day Folks,

New member from Melbourne Australia. Have been hanging around this site for years, without officially jumping in.
I have a few GS bikes and a Water Bottle. Currently ride an original spec and immaculate early 1100 Kat. She gets lotsa use, with Krauser panniers fitted most of the time (touring with the missus).
Currently building up two other Kats, a 7/11 and a modded wire wheel which will become my regular ride.
I am keen to discuss engine mods with the resident experts, especially camshaft choices, Web cams or Yoshi?

Welcome aboard!

Three full size Kats, I'd say you came to the right place.

You might want to identify your bikes in your signature, (like me), so we always know what machine you're referring to.

I've heard of and seen pics of 1970's 2-stroke, 3-cylinder, water-cooled Suzuki GT750, nicknamed the "Water Buffalo". A Wikipedia search tells me the same bike in Australia was called "Water Bottle". I didn't know that. Also, in Britain, it's called the "Kettle".

In addition to what Rob S wrote about adding your bikes in your signature, a little tip about posting pics on the forum. Pasting a pic the way you did is ok. But, the limit is one pic per post, and it shows up small and viewers have to click on it to see it bigger. Many of us use an image hosing site like Imgur or Flickr. Pasting the BBCode from an image hosted on one of these sites will allow up to 10 images per post and you have options for what size you want the images to appear.

Using the search function works best when you choose advanced search, enter your keywords, and check titles only. Anything you want to do to your bike has probably been talked about at some point.

Peter, welcome to the site. A good looking bike you have there and also a beautiful backdrop picture. Good to have more aussies on board as there are a few already.

The Waterbottle is a surprisingly good ride, quite refined for a 44yr old bike and very tourable two up. I find the GT and the Kat draw similar attention wherever I go.
 
Nice bikes you have there, my son in law built a kettle up from scratch a number of yours ago turned out fantastic.

My first experience on a Kettle was in Leeds on the back of my eldest brothers bike, back in 1982, huge fun grinding off metal on all those roundabouts!
