    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New project, well at least a start.

Hey everyone, I did something crazy. Since I couldn't find a 83 1100E, I bought what was left of one.
Its currently a frame with clean title on non-op. All wiring and electrics. Carbs, coils, triple, controls, headlight, taillight, airbox, battery box and more than I'm sure that I'm missing. Plus lots of carb jets, misc. small NOS parts and such.

Not sure if this was a good idea, but the price was fair. Maybe I should sell the parts to someone who needs them and look for a complete bike, or build it with whatever parts I can find. I felt bad for it when I saw everything laid out in the guys driveway.

I'll post some pics this evening so you all can see the madness.

One of our members on Vancouver Island, CA just bought 2 red 1100E's, very nice, complete and for a good price. Maybe Trevor would give you a deal on one. He has too many bikes anyway. :p

That would be awesome.

But is there really such a thing as too many bikes??

Now that I have done some research here as recommended by some "senior" site members. It appears that I have many options. Looks like I can pick from many later model Suzukis to use as donors. The only thing that I am determined to keep original is the body work. We'll see how it goes.

Sounds like a whale of a project, but I'm sure we'll all be pulling for you. We all like pictures, now get to work!!!

Get in touch with West Coast member Rapidray. I'm sure he can supply you with parts or the whole 16-valve power train.

I may have a few parts that you may be able to make use of. Some coils, a 3.5" 1150 Wheel. A 2.15" 82 1100G wheel etc...

I took some pics, but not sure how to load them from my iPad. Is it even possible?

Also spoke with guy in Reno. He has all the running gear and suspension from a 1987 GSXR1100. Might make for one wild ride.

Looking forward to that. You WILL like the results.

Still can't load the pics. Got an Imgur account and everything. So frustrating. Here is the links to my pics. Maybe they will work.
I picked up a second bike. A bit more complete.

I really want to share, but keep having technical issues.

Click on it to Use Old Design. This may be the only way to get to the BBCode. follow the rest of the instructions linked in my signature.

I chickened out and found a more complete 1100E. Still like the idea of of the GSXR transplant, but Don't know when I'll get to Reno to buy the parts.
