Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

My 1980 gloves, complete with multiple duct tape (black) repairs.
my 2006 jacket, sun faded and replaced Velcro.
my helmet is somewhat new, yah, 5 or so years old.
i was going to include my 1979 open face helmet, has about 3/4 inch of hard styrofoam and that is all, but I do not regularly use that.

That's the exact pic I was about to post. Gloves laying on the tank next to the gauges.

Back to the drawing board, lol.

After I posted mine, I saw Dave posted gloves also...LOL...first thing I thought of.

I don't know why but this just gave me a mental picture of you doing your best Darth Vader impression

Favorite piece of gear by far is my leather jacket. Made even more bada$$ with the GS patch i got from member D Roberts. Funny, I didn't notice my reflections in the tank and chrome cam cover till I previewed the post. I'll keep it.

I bought my Tourmaster coat in 1987 when I rode my 450 rebel out of the showroom. It is getting thin so only use it on warm days.

I have to say my brown leather jacket is by far my favorite piece of equipment.

It protects as well as the black leather jacket I had yet it reflects more so I don't over heat. Going on my 3rd season with it and it's going to be pushing 70K miles in it so far. No rips a bit worn in but I love it. Keeps me cool in the hot southern sun but keeps the wind off of me in the brisk early spring and late fall in Vermont.

It was a CHEAP jacket on double discounted sale...

I'll take it!

Another Simpson fan here. I actually stopped wearing mine a few years ago, but many years, miles, and good times were had with this helmet on my head. The padding is fairly packed out by now, but it's still a great fitting helmet.

I think Bob and Dave are at Brown County... Roger is probably doing something fun as well....

This weeks subject and entries.
I tried to blow up Agemax's pic, but dont know how....

Thanks for the votes, Gents.
Something a bit different for this week. How about your favourite piece of riding gear.

We probably all have a helmet, jacket, pair of gloves or boots that fit just right. Racing leathers?

Thanks for doing that Glen, I tried to do it earlier but was having trouble with it. Agemax, you really need to get on a pic hosting site like imgur and paste the BBCode of the image into your posts. Like this:

on a pc, here's a screenshot of what you get when you click on one of your pictures. You get a bunch of choices for what kind of file you want to copy, and at various sizes at the bottom(pic below is a large thumbnail). you can experiment with the sizes and what looks best for a given picture on the forum, the important part is you want to copy the BB Code, and paste it right into your post, no need to mess with the image button in the forum toolbar. On the mobile version of Imgur, I haven't figured out a way to get the BB code. Makes it hard to do this from a phone. Hope this helps.

I just saw your edit. Most of the time, I've found that Huge Thumbnail works pretty well, depending on the image. Usually, Original ends up being too big. You can experiment by copying a few of the various sizes and paste them into the same post. See which size works better. If you click the Go Advanced buttom before you post you get another button the Preview your post before actually posting it. This will allow you to see exactly how your post will look on your screen.

OK, got it, thanks Rich.

Are we voting now?

If so, it's a photo finish for Baatfam and Jedz...

My vote is for Baatfam this week. Great composition!
