• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Let's call it Posters Choice. Post any picture that you want and give it a title. Here is mine, I call it Poser.

V

I see what you did here. As payback for us voting you the new theme setter, you made us all pick a theme. LOL

I'll call this Reborn.

Removing all the touring stuff from the GS seems to have brought it back to it's youth. The Phoenix behind it is at a new fire station which replaced the old run down station across the street.

A side note (unrelated to the theme) behind the phoenix is the car wash from breaking bad.

No Sleep 'til Carbondale

In 2017 I rode to southern Illinois to see the total eclipse of the sun. Carbondale was the best spot to see it in N. America so that was where I had to go obviously. I'd spent the entire week before that day preparing the site for my son's wedding and had to leave for the trip on the morning after the wedding. Staying reasonably sober during that wedding celebration was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I arrived at my uncle's place in Irving, IL at about 3 AM the next night and got up at about 5 am to go to Carbondale. The eclipse was spectacular.

The return trip was several days wandering through Kentucky and W. Virginia. Pretty high on my epic bike trip list.

I watched that eclipse on the Tail of the Dragon. It was awesome. Once in a lifetime thing,

Hey next one is happening in Vermont! You know where I live!

Happy Friday GSR! Time to vote! Good turnout this week, with 14 photos.

Sandy for me as well, several great entries this week but his has everything!

Many great photos making it hard to choose.

Love the drag strip shot, Bob. Must have been pre-pandemic as the spectators are not six feet apart. Seriously though, great shot.

A couple other faves, Redman's clever composition, Sandy's spectacular view and Kerrfunk's mantra all are enjoyable. In fact, they're all great to see.

Voting for Dorkburger this week. Looks like the GS is on the edge of a mountain top above the clouds. Very cool.

Fun theme, Gustovh, thank you!
