A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

The lumber mill in town closed in the last part of the 50s. I believe that the motorcycle should be just as important in the picture as the subject. So here is my entry, The trees that look like they are growing behind the structure are actually growing up through the middle of the building. So here is the homeless hotel.

Crap, I don't have access to the pics of my 82 920 Virago that I took at some of the abandoned industrial sites around Flint, those rocked!

With crazy work hours still... (12-16 hours a day, 6 days a week) plus the weather I haven't been able to explore none the less have time to do much of anything.

So here was a nasty winter storm a couple of years back that obviously took over... And the TUX defiantly pushed through it! It was allot of fun riding home on that one...

It's Jedz for me too. He is not letting Nature take over. Who else but Jedz would take his bike, or his camera, for that matter, out into that weather. Not me. Nice Shot. No pic for me. I think I'm pretty much done riding for the season. So unless the theme is something like "show your forks completely disassembled", I will likely just pop in to vote on Fridays.

Thanks Dave, I know. I've really only been taking pictures while riding for the last few months. I don't have an extensive album of pics with my bike in them. I'll be back. Time to get my hands dirty.

Thanks for the recap, Redman. I counted thirteen entries as well.

I like the "nature taking over" pictures that have extended overgrowth where once there was productive maintenance or utilitarian structure: gustovh?s lumbermill building growing trees, Baatfam?s shack, Redman?s brick factory, marvinsc?s house, dork?s storage tank. These capture the theme the most for me. (plus mine, of course!)

My vote is for gustovh's lumber mill.

I'm going to go with Baatfam's this week. I actually think he risked his life to grab that picture! (twang of a banjo comes from the house)

In memory of the nicest '83 E I have ever seen. My vote goes to Trevor this week. Dam I loved that bike...

Thanks, I miss it a great deal at times as well. The real sad part for me was that my dad had just painted for me the year before it was totaled. :(

One way I evaluate a photo is to ask myself "If I showed this picture to someone and asked them to describe what the picture is, what would they say." And "WHen I look at the picture, had I not known the catagory-theme, and not know the story, what would I say the picture is about."

Some great pics here, but some of them if I were to show to someone else or when I look at each them, I might describe 4 or 5 or 6 things, none of which are anything consistent with "nature taking over".

Let me ponder the entries some more.

(okay, okay, I am a grumpy old conservative guy that thinks things are suppose to be a certain way just because that is what is correct/proper/the-way-its-suppose-to-be.)

Baatfams pic does it for me. The muted colouring works well with the theme and is a fine touch.
