• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

STEVE MURDOCH gets my vote. I don't see what the problem was, you put down a piece of plywood under the center stand. The only problem I see is, she didn't finish putting away the dishes on the counter!

I was really more worried about the access to the knives in the block than the dishes. haha.

Saturday AM
(comes early when sick and go to bed a 8pm)

Vote Tally

Burque 1, Sandy 2, Rich 3, SteveMurdock 6, dpep 1, jdez 1

Well, I could be off by a couple before it would effect outcome, but would be good to have a confirmation.

Thanks for the votes, Gents.

So for this week a bit of a story....
One of my favourite things about this site is the wide variety of bikes that show up and the universal acceptance of those bikes. We even have a designated "Other" section.
A great example of this can be seen in the recent thread of a newbie looking for advice on purchasing a GS1000. That GS bike got panned but many other makes were offered as options and certainly he would be welcomed heere no matter what he purchased.
A lot of us, myself included are not currently riding our GSes but receive no backlash . Not all sites areas inclusive.

Anyhow, this week theme is about being inclusive.
How about a pic of your bike at the shop of another manufacturer or a pic of your bike together with a bike from another manufacturer.
Your buddy got a Triumph? Lets see the two of them together.

Ok...this is a shot with of my Cooley with a bunch of other buddy'd other brand bikes. Taken in May outside Bridgeport on our way to Death Valley.
In the group we had Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, BMW, Honda new and old and even a Can Am 3 wheeler! :)

Now the back story is that I rode the scooter from Florida. The two Harleys made the trip in the back of that toy hauler from Indiana.

Yes, that was the same year. I put the Majesty in the shop and bought a Wee-Strom to ride home. A few weeks later I flew back to Indiana, picked up the scooter, rode it on to Sturgis and then back to Florida. At Sturgis my scooter was definitely with a bike from a another manufacturer...a few hundred thousand of them.
...

I think one of the pictures in my signature fits this theme.
