Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

In april 2015 I answered a craigslist add for a 83 1100G with title for $200, so I bought it sight unseen. 15 min after getting it home it was running. A week later it looked like this.

I put this small fly screen on my bike last summer to help cut down on the wind buffeting my head. What a difference it makes, so wish i had fitted something as effective as this years ago........

That looks just like the one on my 1100E...And yes, it really does help...

Is that an 8" headlight?

Mine, (Not an Entry)

Several pics caught my attention.
But for the subject-theme, I will vote for Dorkburger.

I still have to take a look around, but wanted to mention the significance of Dpep's entry. If not familiar with that bike you need to go to the home page and read about the Yellow Frank project. A lot of GSR history there.

My vote is for gustovh. That GS looks like it came to this decade via a time machine. You occasionally see a Vetter fairing and luggage set from that period that has made it through to today. But a Pacifico fairing with lowers and Samsonite luggage on the same 80's bike? Rare...very rare.

Sorry to pop your bubble but the fairing is a Hannigan Sport Touring.

Even more rare. Did the fairing and Samsonite come with the bike?

Just the fairing, in pretty good shape too. Rich gets my nod this week. Getting hard to choose.

Although i think Rich should get Post of the Year for his Steve Buscemi meme i will vote for Cowboy and his Bandit fairing.
Makes me want to head down that road.

Voting for mr. Dpep. I don't think that's the weirdest thing he's strapped onto his bike though. I think I remember a picture of a plastic chair?

Yes, Plastic resin lawn chair.... upside down, with legs up to provide place to secure lots of other stuff.

Other picture I would like to see of one of his stories: Him riding thru Sturgis.... bike week.... on a scooter... wearing a tie... carrying a teddy bear (stator).
