• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

These parts (my entry) came off of Mr Ratley (1100GK)

Spent Parts.
The Sprocket and chain is from first two years of having a bike (a brand new KZ400).
The hubs are from the next 39 years of having one or two 1980s GS Gs.
And, ah, the stator..... yah, could be a couple more there.

Maybe it’s me. But 3 different browsers on 2 different devices, and still can’t see trevor’s pic.

Trevor. When I manually insert the url for your picture (copy and paste actually) I get a "login timed out error". I think people might need an "outlook.live.com" account to see it.

What I normally do to post a pic is the following...

I email the pic from my phone to myself. I open up the email on my laptop and then right click on the image to copy it. Then I "CTRL V" on the site here. It's worked for years until just recently. :(

Sounds like you need a new photo hosting service, Trevor. :)
This is not the first time we've had this issue.

Hey Trev, Just trying to help you.

When you say "right click to copy IT", to my understanding, that will be copying the image. But what you want to be doing is copying the IMG Code, some call BBCode (bulletin board), which looks somewhat like this
/IMG/ https : / / i.imgur.com/ABrzsddh . jpg /IMG (is from Imgur, your pic from Rich above. I added spaces so it doesnt display the pic).
Because what you want to paste (CtrlV) to the forum posting is that IMG code, which then appears as the picture.

I have no explanation for how that used to work for you, other than, maybe when you right click, is ther other options....? or maybe was some update that changed some things on your laptop. Like maybe "for years" your email service was also hosting pics on some other service such as Outlook or something.

Is a detailed discussion, eh.
Need to make distinction between "the image" and "the IMG Code". THe IMGCode is sorta kinda like the URL website address of where the image file is stored.

You do have great pics, and hope you can easily continue to post.

Sorry guys...I really don't know what's going on...I'm doing it the same as always.

I copied the address of a pic you posted back in November (Cooley in front of stone arch). I assume that picture would have been posted by "how have been doing it for years".

Maybe someone else knows what "scontent.fyvr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net" is, and can give some clue as to how that used to work, and why it doesnt now.
Oh, wait, fb cnd
