Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

I'm going for Gustov's shot. Had to look twice 'cause I think I'm actually in that shot.
Sandy, at first I thought maybe I saw you in Trevors shot (bikes lined up downtown with mountain peak in view).

Hey, isnt that the downtown we have seen in your pics....?

You're right on both counts. I'm the guy with the white neck warmer ....some would claim that ride was a little chilly.

You are Sandy, right under the sign talking to Rich.

V

The guy in the pic that hasn't seen a barber in a while. Is that your buddy Shaun that rode with us? Liked him ...really cool guy.

I vote for Eli69 for his exquisite taste in beer. 🎶You can count on Genny's taste because it's brewed in just one place. Geneseein' is believein' 🎶 $4.21 a twelve pack back in 1982 🌞

Trev, I am not fully understanding the shark looking thing in the line of .....

Dave, if I may, I believe that is an homage to the Nose Graphics made famous by the AVG P40 pilots of the Flying Tigers @WWII. Evidently, they didn?t start it. Here?s some interesting history.

Saturday Morning, time to tally the votes.

As of this morning, I count the following:

One vote for Gustov
Two votes for Burque73

And three votes for Sandy, Baatfam*, and Eli69

*
Post #7090 by Grimly is a vote for Baatfam, clarified below, thanks.

So a three way tie...
Can anyone help verify?

I confirm Bob.
I haven't voted and I'll cast my vote with Eli this week.
Hydraulic Sandwichs FTW.

zomg! You guys are stretching my mental capacity here. I am glad ya like my simple pictures though. Our riding pictures and selfies are memories of what makes us happy, especially these days. I'll come up with something soon as I can. Thanks again.

Try this... "State of Confusion" or maybe "What did I get Myself Into?"

I'm reasonably confident working on my old GS's but what am I gonna do with this mess???...(looks expensive too)

I viewed pic by starting looking at steering neck and working way down
... electrical connectors, nope, dont look familiar
... flat metal box of some sort, nope, dont look familiar
... something with metal piping and fittings, nope, dont look familiar
... grey plastic box with heavy electrical cable connections, ah, um, maybe battery
... hum, rounded box with cover, maybe air box, with connectors, oh, OH, hey, I recognize that connector, ..... and, yah, I have seen a partial view of a battery like that...oh, now I recognize, cylinders sticking out both sides, oh, look fuel injector throttle bodys on each side
... Oh, I remember finding that connector broke the first day with the RT.... oh, I recall the feeling of not knowing what anything was. . .

But have no pics of that occasion

Although I have had many many of those occasions, I typically dont take a photo at the moment of such occurs.
Will see what I can find.

Will be interesting to see the pics

When pulling swing arm back, out falls this nut - with part of a bolt in it yet (or that is what I though at that moment).....
PFXVIIs.jpg

I had about no idea what that was, nor what it meant.
Even though I was disassembling because I knew was some problem in there, and folks here (bwringer and others) had tried to explain to me what I might find.
THen the flange (on left) came out also. Hey, that is suppose to be held in place by a nut on the threaded end of the secondary gear. . . . Oh, Oh, now, oh, now I am starting to understand.... Oh, Oh...... what, what have I gotten into? THis is more than I can deal with.

THe picture itself does not convey that, unless you are familiar with what are seeing and know what it should be like, and know what has happened, and know that I did not understand that as the part fell out.
