A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Wow, that’s totally unexpected. Thanks. I put that up just to have something. Barely met the theme.

So, it’s been a dry few months (actually wet and cold). So have to go with what I got on file. Around here, there are lots of scenic overlooks, which, if visited at the golden hour, can reveal a light that makes everything look good. Let’s see the Vista where your bike looks the prettiest. New theme is Vista.

Vista is generally used today for broad sweeping views of the kind you might see from a mountaintop. But the word originally meant an avenue-like view, narrowed by a line of trees on either side. And vista has also long been used (like view and outlook) to mean a mental scan of the future—as if you were riding down a long grand avenue and what you could see a mile or so ahead of you was where you'd be in the very near future.

Had to make sure....;)

I'll offer this. Nearing sunset on the last day of a four-day, seven-state, 1,337-mile tour. I wish the focus were a little better, but I was far away and had to zoom in a bit. I do like the coloring.

20210617_112649.jpg This Vista picture was taken last summer on my trip to Yellowstone, the famous Bears Tooth Pass. After riding in the heat for several days, the 57? temperature was very welcoming.

Getting to Bears Tooth from Cody Wyoming (base camp) I followed the Chief Joseph Highway. I would have never know about the Chief Joseph Highway if it wasn't for Depep. Thanks Don. 👍

You’ll just have to stop in and I’ll show you all the great vistas, a few like this not far from my house. Maybe see some porcupines, and probably a rattlesnake or two.

As soon as I'm sure that I won't get caught in a snowstorm I will be harassing you most heinously for another ride in the Pennsylvania hills. Also, the deer around here are going nuts lately. The roads are littered with corpses. That's been keeping me close to home and moving slowly. I hope they settle their asses down soon.

Oh, Man !
After seeing these entries.......
If my purpose/motovation was to be a winner, I would not go to any further effort to find some shot I might have .. .. ...

I might have something more impressive in my hard drive but this one is actually from this season. It's been a snowy spring so far.

Looking north toward Lake Ontario. The land tends to flatten out a bit in that direction.

Not a proper vista, but vista-esque. Somewhere I have a pic at Worlds End Park, which Rich may be familiar with.

a pic next to an old Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser would be great, but I don't know of any nearby....

Yep, been there. Beautiful area to ride. May head up there tomorrow. Supposed to be a nice day.

Not an entry.
