• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Stopped on ride today for selfie

My favorite selfie....me and Wes Cooley in my old truck with my GS1000S in the back...RIP my friend

Thanks, Roger.
Mine's a '79. The white model with the fairing is from '82.
Different strokes and all that but i was never a fan of the fairing model '81 or '82. Diverts attention from the engine.

This being a Suzuki site, I've got to go with trevor... Wes Cooley, GS 1000 "S", and Suzuki just fit together.

Trevs pic is a great selfie, great story, and a happy scene.

SOme other enjoyable pics. Narrow it down to 3 or 4 great shots, but some are not really one arm selfies (implying holding camera/phone), so other shots get the benefit of tie-breaker considerations.

Vote for Bob Baatfam. It shows the bike and the road and the general area... and that facial expression is adding something to the story, I am not sure what, but made me think there must be some story there. Maybe Bob looking for a way out of there, which way to a paved road, or something.
But, I suspect is mostly Bob concentrating on framing the scene, keeping his eyes on the phone screen, but in the pic it looks like is something of a serious situation occurring with being out on that road.
Which reminds me that early in my selfie experience, I learnt to frame the scene, then right before hit the button, to look at the lens.
