A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Alright yinz, I'm changing my pic-of-the-week entry.
I found a better picture that shows downtown Pittsburgh.
This picture is from the Grandview Overlook on the South Shore of Pittsburgh.

Is that near the "Mon Incline"?

Is that near the "Mon Incline"?

Yes, close to the Monongahela Incline.
Here is a picture of the Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh.
It's a trolly car that takes you up to the top of the hill.
It's pretty cool, you just hope the cable doesn't break!! Downtown_Pittsburgh_from_Duquesne_Incline_in_the_morning.jpg

We love Pittsburgh. Have gone up the Duquesne, walked to the Mon to go back down. Found a street fair in between, like a little neighborhood party with cheap pizza and beer. Great place to see a baseball game, lots of museums and great food. I wish my son had decided to go to Duquesne, then we'd have an excuse to visit more often.

I don't like using a pic I've used before in the game, but I'm not likely to get out on a bike before Friday. So here's an oldie.

YAh, I suppose not everybody has familiarity with an "incline".
My dad is from Johnstown PA and my Mom near Pittsburg, so I was exposed to "inclines".

THe regular riders can watch the vistors to see how much they jump when the car going the other way passes by har har har

Our little Downtown here. . . . . . .
here is one side of one blocks of the 2 1/2 blocks of downtown here..... the most colorfull anyway......
N5XRCSo.jpg

I dont recall how I caught the street so empty, not a lot of cars parked. I think maybe early morning, and no coffee shop in this part of that block.

Some of downtown is from late 1800s, most is from early 1900s, most all fairly good appearance. Some, if look closely, can see some deterioration.

From time to time, I like to walk around downtown and look at some of the details of the brickwork.

I have come to understand that are reasons why the town and downtown here is as nice as it is, in addition to being something of tourist town on Lk Michigan:
- none of downtown streets are state highways, so not heavy traffic.
- most all the town residentail areas are zoned single family (which has become a somewhat contrversail issue in recent years).
- much of old industrial area converted to residentail condos etcetera

I didn't post a pic for 'hibernation' as it's something we don't really do in the South Pacific. But here's my entry for 'Downtown'

Let us know if anything is amiss, and don't forget to vote.:p

Burque73 gets my vote. There's just something about all the converging lines in the pic. Reminds me of learning how to draw in single-point perspective.

For the record, my pic was of downtown Lewisburg, PA. The Campus Theatre is owned by Bucknell Univ.

Hi! I'm glad to vote and have the fav photo, but... here)
where can I vote, where is a poll? or juswrite in the comments?

There is no poll. Just edit your post and write: I vote for [insert full username here].
Pro-tip - Making the username bold helps whoever does the tally tomorrow.

Downtown where the lights are bright: Rich

this is as close to downtown as I wanna get: Bob Baatfam

sign says “No Left Turn”, so point front wheel the other way: Roger Burque

ill vote for Norm Storm cuz about anybody describing that picture would say “downtown”. And looks like Norm stopped there just for a “downtown” pic.

Well Dang, I's thinking more of towns instead of cities... Voting for gustovh, just cause his picture is more what I'd expected

Voting for Mr KiwiAlfa156. He's got downtown, uptown and upside down (other side of the earth) all in one picture.

Marvinsc gets my vote this week.
I've been through Murray Kentucky. It is really that clean, like the sign would have you think.

Well it’s a good thing that I got a vote, I was just about to stomp my feet, but instead I vote for KiwiAlpha. Realllllly nice bike…oh and pic.
