A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Voting for Mr Storm64. For us regular people, eclipses are a once, or if you're lucky, twice in a lifetime thing.

Rich, Trevor, Jedz, Burque…
I am impressed that Norm thought to take picture of that situation.
I like the significance of Roger Burque pic.

Vote for Rich82.

vote tally

rich 1, storm 2, trevor 2,
burque 1, baatfam 1, Jedz 1, Redman 1

so looks like we need a tiebreaker from someone that hasn’t voted yet, (Someone can verify, or send in alternate delegates.)
tie at 2 between Norm Storm Eclipse darkness and Trevor’s dual 1100s.

Thanks guys

Ok this is going to be a wide open one ...how about one of your favorite "pics from being on a road trip".

This pick was taken last year just outside of John Day Oregon of my VFR1200F :)

Pic from my first what I could consider a “road trip”. It was definitely the most miles, packing the most gear for camping, etc.I had done up to this point, to meet this guy for the first time in person at a primitive campsite on the other side of the state n East Bumf#$k, PA. Did a little off-roading, got some dinner, shared some beers, watched the creek flow by.

My longest road trip to date.

My Ride-RT-Home-From-SanDiego trip
June 2019

I s'pose isnt anything in the photo to indicate is a long road trip since with the trunk and side bags it looks the same as an afternoon ride.
But then again, the scene obviously aint Michigan.
Colorado or Utah someplace, I think I-70 before I headed off on US50 for Colorado-Kansas-Missouri-Illinois-Indiania-HomeMichigan.

Speaking of S.W. Utah: Who? was the fine GSR member that had been in Southern California (say early 2000s), and then later moved to Hurricane Utah....?
His postings of Palomar Mountian (with BassCliff and others) and other south southern California canyon rides were memerable. THen I got to visit/ride SanDiego area about once a year from 2014 to 2019 and rode Palomar Mt and Ortega a few times.
Also, I think He was the guy that had avatar pic of bike parked across the double yellow line in middle of the road, that I used as an inspiration,,,,,um, er,,,ah,,, I copied.
(but in my pic cant see reflection of double yellow line in engine case).

Bar Harbor, Maine.
It was a little overcast and rainy, but that just added to the ambiance of the seaside village.

Steve, are you sure the grey one is yours??? I'd have never imagined you with a bike that had SIX exhaust pipes on it

Happy Friday GSR! Let's review our photos and vote.
First the theme of the week by trevor:

...one of your favorite "pics from being on a road trip"

And that should be all of them. Let us know if anything is amiss.
Smaller than normal turnout this week, but still some fine photos. Thanks everyone for playing.

And don't forget to vote ;)

Redman for me as well. That looks like fun. Great frame of the shot as well.

Runner up was Baatfam. Been to Mt Rushmore several times, being from North Dakota.
