A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all,

Thought I had my oil leak fixed but it is is still seeping somewhere. Have decided to replace all the top end gaskets.

Can anyone recommend the best gasket set for the 1980 GS750E and where to get it ? I went to the place I usually get suzuki parts and they dont carry one and individually I would have to mortgage my house to buy them, lol. I hesitate to buy just any set, I would like input on the best set to buy, not the cheapest set, the best quality set please.

I found this on ebay, does anyone have experience with this set ?

Thanks in advance for any help I can get, Jerry

???

Do I feel lucky as in it might be a junk set or might not be? lol I cant get a genuine OEM set anywhere I can find, just trying to get your guys opinion.

Vesrah gaskets sets have a mixed reputation. Thought I read somewhere that there may have been "counterfeit" Vesrah gasket sets floating around.

Personally I'd clean it up and try foot powder to find the source of the leak. It would be a shame to replace a good head gasket if the cam chain tensioner is leaking, for example.

Hi Jerry,

I've posted extensively in the past regarding my experience with Athena aftermarket gasket. Not good. Brian Winger has posted similarly regarding his experiences with Versrha gaskets. Not good. Rapid Ray has posted his warnings again and again about using anything other than OEM gaskets for a stock rebuild. All this information is in the archives just waiting for you to search it out.

Try Advanced Search

Set "Titles Only"

Search on keyword "Gaskets", "athena", etc

You will find more info that you could possiably be interested in reading.

Sorry to be an A$$. I just get tired of repeating myself. Guess I need to spend less time here.:o
