A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Looks like a great idea to me. The most comfortable frame with the most motor. Your skeptics must be masking their envy. One might question the color, but it's not bad at all.

Does the frame twist a bit when you get on the throttle?

hi Dogma, Thanks for the positive comment, not that I've ever noticed, but I'm usually just trying to not get my arms dislocated!, seriously I think that the heavily braced swinging arm helps a lot I also have a Micron fork brace fitted as well(from my parts donor bike)
, the bike that I have for parts has the swinging arm from a GSX1100ET(GS1100EX for you in the states) fitted, I seem to remember from years ago that this was a common upgrade along with the Koni shocks to tame any waywardness. The paint colour looks better in the metal as its a pearlescent and photos flatten it out.Johnny

Jonny, I think you'll find quite a few folks on the forum here would appreciate a GS mod like that (engine transplant). The guys at Old Skool Suzuki would, too, I think. I certainly like it!

I just realized that in my post I said the white bike is an 82 850. She's actually a 650g. Sorry if i confused anyone.

Johnny- looks great and porbably tons of fun to ride. Color is beautiful too.

Johnny, I like it! Not a show bike but a fine example of the hot rodder's art.

What pipe are you running?

Hi Bill, the exhaust is from an English company called MOTAD,they make aftermarket exhausts for lots of Jap,Euro& English bikes. This is the type to fit a GS1000 but it fits straight on,I like this brand as you don't have to re-jet to suit it, I am going to have to replace it wen finances allow as it cracked all round the weld between the collector and the end can.Yeah I know that it isn't a show class bike or even that clean! but this is what it looked like 13 years ago when I bought it.Johnny

Oops, sorry D, got your name wrong!my 19 month old was trying to get me to play and I rushed the reply-sorry!

Johnny,
Brilliant bike! Now there is a hot-rod that you can RIDE!!! Great bike!

some updated pics

What year and size is the black GS? It looks like my 78 GS550. If it is a 550, any chance you would like to get rid of that UGLY 4into1 pipe? I have been searching for a header for my bike for nearly 2yrs.

Oh Yeah! That is it. Excellent work.

Tell me. The rear shocks are ornamental aren't they? It looks like there is no room for travel between the tyre, guard and seat.

Very cool. It makes me want to build one but I have enough work to do as it is.

they are very stiff but they do move. the rear has about 1.5 - 2 inches of travel.

this is my first bike, i bought it after it sat for ten years in a shed and im making it into a "cafe" style bike...tell me what you think! :D

Do you have any closer picts of the bike? Looks nice and clean. The old emblem on the tank is a nice touch.
