    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

you will need to run some pretty heavy clutch springs as the 1100 plates are smaller in diameter than the 1000 plates.
plus you will be running a couple less plates because of the removal of material from the 1100 basket.
this is my experience when doing the 1100 basket in a 1000 conversion.
 
one other thing i'd recommend...
have the cam ends machined near flush with the lobes on the right side so you can get to the bucket/shim with your dial indicator when degreeing your cams.

What about putting the stock 1000 steelies on a lathe and taking them down about an 1/8" so they fit in the 1100 basket? My plan was to run x3 EBC springs and x3 stock springs with Fast By Gast fibers...
 
if you machine the 1000 steels down...lol
you might as well use the 1100 steels.
you see what i mean?
FBG fibers are aggressive...i never liked them because of no neutral when running ect..
you may have better luck.
i use OEM fibers for street bikes or 7 second bikes...they are that good.

considering you have used an 1100 basket in a 1000 before, what else is necessary for the conversion other than the new hub, 1100 frictions, and 1100 steels - can I use the stock 1000 plate carrier or do I need one from an 1100?
 
hmmm,
been a few years but i think you can use the 1000 inner hub.
it has the same spline pattern as the 1100 for the steels.
the one thing i remember when using an 1100 inner hub was it had to be narrowed also...the same amount as the basket or close to it.
you end up with 2-3 less plates than a stock 1100 so you loose quite a bit of stack height...hence the more static spring pressure needed especially on a performance engine.
 
stock 1000 has 8 fibers and 7 steels.

it makes sense that if you used an 1100 plate carrier it would need to be shortened, as well.

what about the wave washer and seat that go behind the first steel in the 1100 assembly?
