A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I placed an order for some front signals on www.cyclewareables.com. The company is just over in West Virginia, I'm in D.C., I thought I'd keep somewhat local. Never done any business with them before, and I found the site a bit confusing. But I found what I needed, ordered it, and the only response I got from them was an email saying my order is being processed. No number, no reciept. About a week went by, and I sent an email inquiring on the order status, got nothing. I called the # on the website, and it just rings and rings and rings. Seems shady to me..... Should have gone to bikebandit in the first place.

I don't know about you, but the whole site just screams "one dude in his Mom's basement with a stack of catalogs". Mom must be at work so she can't come down to the basement and answer the phone.

To be fair, despite the primitive nature of the site, there are far easier ways to scam people than generating pages full of obscure motorcycle parts. I would bet that they are probably honest, but slow and not all that motivated. You'll get your parts -- eventually.

Very interesting "rules" page here:

I'd be very surprised if this is anything more than an occasional hobby -- "Hatch" likely has a day job somewhere and checks in on the site a few times a week to see if there are any orders. At least he's honest about not having inventory, and needing to order the items.

Some of these sites also wait until they have a certain volume of orders before placing orders with their suppliers. Ever been to a dealer that only orders parts on Wednesday evenings or something silly like that?

Hope it turns out OK. If you didn't know of these sources, all of whom I've used without problems, I thought I'd list 'em for you to check out.

Cool, thanks for the sites, D Angel. I'm fairly new to riding, about a year or so, and don't yet have a good grip on where to go to get decent service for bike parts (haven't really had to do a damn thing to this bike since I've had it!). But, as soon as winter hits I'm going to spend some good time getting my baby cabk to where she was 25 years ago, so I'll check these places out. Thanks.

parts ordered

Just curious, did you ever get the parts you ordered

Be careful with Anderson. A few of us have had problems with them.

I ordered parts from Cyclewearables once and got the parts in about 3 weeks. Same thing...just an email idicating the parts were ordered. I had ordered a replacement canister and baffle for my V&H supersport exhaust.

I would stay away from oldbikebarn. They seem to be up to their old tricks again.
