R.I.P. Ozzy

Had no idea his health was so fragile. May he RIP. One of a kind, for sure.

R.I.P OZZY !

How many years have I been listening to ozzy ? many years !

I remember not long after the bat biting thing, about a dozen friends and I bought tickets to see ozzy, I was already becoming a big fan of his guitarist Randy Rhodes.

The stage was cool, old stone castle and torches, ozzy came out and sang three words " over the mountain " and fell flat on his back, the band finished the song and it was over, we think we spotted his tour bus at steakn shake few hours later ,tickets got refunded

Then few years attempted to see ozzy again , with three other friends, sold out and we didnt have tickets, as soon as we got in two of my friends got busted, so we all just left.

Think yngwie malmsteen band at the time was opening act, yngwie malmsteen played van halens "Eruption " in about ten seconds, he's fast !

Ozzy didn't look good at the "back to the beginning " July 5th concert event, but he didn't look like he only had a few weeks left either.

Lot of people outside of my personal life, celebrities, musicians, athletes have made me think and reflect on their life, career, job . Dont think this one has sunk in yet !

But the older I get the more its going to happen.

R.I.P OZZY

I was/am a big Ozzy fan. Back in high school we'd go see him/Black Sabbath every time they'd come around. My older brothers and friends introduced me to the Pariniod Album at quite the young age! Lol
Rest in Peace Ozzy...

No Rest For The Wicked was the only cassette I had for my walkman on a long road trip. Just played it over and over. Then saw him with Anthrax on that same tour in 1988. I sold my Atari 2600 at a yard sale to buy a concert ticket and two tiny little square pieces of paper.:p:rolleyes: I think they had unicorns on them, yes, blue ones. I swear Ozzy's tattoos were glowing that night.

My buddies lifted me up during Anthrax and I surfed the crowd almost to the stage then, thump! Looked around and saw nothin but feet and a small glint of the lights above, like looking up out of a tunnel. Realizing I'd be trampled, I shot back to my feet.

Too many memories to note about the good times listening music from Ozzy.

RIP Ozzman

For all those religious leaders that hated Ozzy....said he was the "Anti-Christ"
This is what a real man looks like!

A week ago, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, who served as musical director, posted that the show had raised $190 million in charitable donations, a massive jump from the $140 million he mentioned in an earlier Instagram story. The money will be distributed between three organizations: Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s. Each charity was able to raise tens of thousands more by raffling off tickets to the show. According to Billboard, that pushed the total beyond $200 million, which makes Back To The Beginning the highest-grossing charity concert of all time, far surpassing the $100 million raised by this year’s FireAid shows in LA.

The ozzy concert I previously mentioned where ozzy fell out at the beginning of the first song had all kinds of protesters outside the venue, the ones saying ozzy promoted Satanism ,some saying he was ruining the youth by promoting drug use and others wanting warning labels because of explicit lyrics and even some animals rights/protection protesters.

It was rumored that's why he bailed on the concert, but official reason he was sick from rabies shots ?

Ozzy wasn't only one getting protesters, seen AC/DC , Iron maiden, even the scorpions having some sign waivers back then !

The first concert I went to when I was 16 was White Zombie in Bismarck, ND in April of 1995. With The Ramones, The Supersuckers, and The Toadies. I remember there being protestors there! AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden and the likes were all "Devil's Music". The bible thumpers just weren't very tolerant back then, even into the 90's.

RIP Ozzy! Great musician and performer.

Wow....great first concert!!! :)
I saw the Police as my first concert in 1982

I saw Ozzy twice, once on his own, once with Sabbath. Rob Zombie (whom I like) opened for him at one of the shows and, though he was good, was thoroughly and utterly upstaged and outclassed by the Ozzman. For heavy metal, I cannot think of a more influential artist.

My first concert was when my mother and her sisters got tickets but one of my aunts bailed so I took her place .

Stevie wonder LOL I didnt know what to expect, it was a real eye opener

Same thing kind of, Mom , aunt and even my grandmother's got tickets, grandmother's bailed out at last minute, so I got to see Elvis.

About a year later, got up early to deliver newspaper and seen the headlines he died.

1968 - Westbury Music Fair (theater in the round)

The Lemon Pipers, who played their #1 hit Green Tambourine.

My first concert.

Background
The song is a direct attack on disgraced televangelist Jimmy Swaggart. Swaggart had been a vocal critic of Osbourne's music, accusing him of promoting the occult and glorifying sexual acts. However, in 1988 and 1991, Swaggart himself was involved in prostitution scandals, which made headlines.
The song as a response
Ozzy Osbourne, along with bassist/lyricist Bob Daisley, wrote "Miracle Man" as a scathing response to Swaggart's hypocrisy. The song's lyrics satirize Swaggart's public apology for his actions

There was a Sabbath show scheduled for Easter in Buffalo. The mayor said,"No band called Black Sabbath would play in Buffalo on Easter ". We weren't sure so we went. There was no concert but there were some holy roller types hanging around. They were friendly enough. We talked with them for a while.

Thankfully, even Buffalo has evolved since then.
