A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Saw this at my mothers today. All I could think of was, this bird needs a biger house!

Right after the picture, it swooped down and grabbed a field mouse and flew away!

Intersting.
I recall the original posting, man, that was over 5 years ago.
And another posting where you added some marking on the tank.

Nice work Glen and Bob and others.
Working on all sorts of new techniques and scenes.

Me... I am still going after the same scenes.

Has been a while since I posted a pier-sunset pic.
THis from the past weekend.

Sunset this time of fall getting close to being inline with the pier. In an other couple weeks it will be inline with the pier.

Goofed off a bit today at work studying shape and shade.
The cool shades are from daylight shining in a nearby window. The warm ones are from an incandescent light. The shapes, shadows, and lines were just fun.... i was laying on the floor looking up.

I haven’t particularly been trying new things, but scenes, yes. It always a crapshoot. I walked along the river not particularly excited, but the around just one more curve mentality was in play and it paid off. I failed to capture the absolutely spectacular light in that last river shot. It was overcast but bright, and the brightness was filtered and diffused down thru the trees. Hard to describe, but it was soft yet crisp and the green going yellow leaves cast a lovely tint on the whole scene. At least if I get back there I can head straight back to that spot. Photography after work is generally a rushed proposition involving a bit of planning and quick work. On a good day, I can bang out a few nice shots if I’m lucky. If I’m exploring a new area, it’s usually a learning experience for the future.

ANd then went to see it manouver to tie up at the docks.
Saw crew member climb down ladder into a small boat and then go tend to the mooring lines, then back in small boat, and back up the ladder. Little boat pulled away as soon as the guy stepped on the ladder.

Thanks Dave. It’s been fun exploring the multiple ways how light, shadow, and reflection play on the shallow water. Still trying to get a shot(s) that nicely captures an image of the bottom of the brook, the surface, and something reflected on the surface... a three in one of sorts. I haven’t had much chance in the past to explore around shallow stony brooks. Last weeks rain brought the level up a bit, but also cleaned some of the silt from the bottom to show more color.

I’m enjoying your ship shots, and I never tire of the lighthouse and pier photography.

Judge says I am responsible.

Well, Good.
So,,,,, Next time my wife suggest I am not. . . . . . I can say I have a certificate that says I AM responsible, from a judge.
(well, court magistrate, actually)

Lets not discuss the ticket here. (was not on bike, was in car, late night, no traffic, prohibited UTurn)

I like the picture, and that I can say that I have a judgment from a judge that I am "Responsible", despite other folks thought that maybe I am not.

Been 10 days since posted a pier-sunset pic.
In those 10 days, now sun is setting on "other" side of the pier.
Was heavy cloudy cover all day, and this evening, but was a small area at just the right area of the horizon with thin enough clouds to let sunset light thru and light up the other clouds for just a few minutes.

THis from way back, across the road, with my longest lens (600mm equivalent, this shot at about 400).
Was in front of a big condo building (all the units appeared to be unoccupied), climbed up on a big transformer so could have elevation to look over above the traffic on the road and other obstacles in the area.
36 degreesF and windy, and my gloves blew away while I was setting up the tripod. Got tripod and camera setup, and the wifi app on phone in operation, then climbed down and hid from wind behind the transformer, and operated camera from the app.. . .

And... from that location, I saw two cars make the same prohibited UTurn I got nabbed for, and they were doing it in between traffic and having to make it a 3 point turn.

Close encounter. Was about 15' away. Used the zoom just not perfect in the focus and i have used the sharpen to enhance, (not a lot better), to make it a little better. Colours are natural.
