Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Impressive.
I was going to ask if that was all natural light (un-aided with mirrors or diffusers or whatnot).
Or you found the situation in good light with a darker background.
Natural light, with some intermittent clouds, about 8am.
Handheld, with my GX85, and 60mm macro.

This has been sitting beside a Gravel road....................
Ha!
What is your guess??
I suspect the porcelain fixture had been half buried for sometime (causing the discoloration to a portion of it) maybe in a swampy area.
THen dug up, and placed on the tire.
I would think would not bee too stable there on the tire like that. ANd would seem the sand would have gotten washed off the tire with any rain.

I was busy playing catch up, and found myself in a pickle, but I was still able to relish the moment and squeeze this photo in. Condiments are welcome... 🙂

Went for another beach-pier photo expedition about sunset time.

Suppose someone could say that I am boring and unimaginative for going back to same place for photos. And that could be fairly true.
But I can also say that that each sunset can be different.

Dave, that's not a bad idea, going back for photos at that spot. As we pass through the seasons, and the sun drops in the sky, the lighting changes to reveal new opportunities.

Nice photos guys. That tomato bug shot is stunning!

Went camping and did a little fishing this weekend at El Vado Lake and in the Chama River right below the dam. One of the other fisherman's dog was barking and carrying on at this trash can so my son went to investigate.

He figured out pretty quick why the dog went nuts.

We put large stick in the can and stepped back. The trash panda scurried up the tree and waited for us to leave.

Great photos Dave. You may be going to the same place, but I can't tell.

EDIT: Well, actually I can tell. But you understand what I was sayin'

In my experience, no two images are ever the same, and repeatedly visiting the same location can yeild countless different results depending on conditions. These conditions also include the the mood of the photographer .
