• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Weither on not that was a challenge, Bob, I took it as, um, encouragement to also get out with adapted Cannon FD 50mm macro 3.5, but with 10mm M43 extension.

Lowly dandelion in yard. (Wife was in house laughing at me trying to follow around the little bee.).

Would make shadow if I tried to get in better position, so a portion of the flower exceeded the available DOF.

Here is flowering plant of some sort in woodlot behind yard. Looks like maybe suffered a bit in one of the three frost/freeze warning nights recently.
About dime size.

I think this is an interesting setup, and worth trying again.

Two stops up from wide, so f/8.

>>later note: Quess I dont really know that is 2 stops up, is two of the printed numbers on the ring (3.5 then 5.6 then 8, is 4 clicks). I should check into that. SOmething quite basic that I may not fully understand.

Impressive.
So same equipment as I am using. And more impressive results.
After much analysis and evaluation, I conclude that proves that you have better flowers there. har har har

An other fun part of this hobby. A mixture of fun and frustration.
Speaking of frustration, I have a basketcase motorcycle to attend to.

Saw walnuts like these under pine tress the other day, when was dry and full sun, and tried to get some interesting shots. Today is rainy and heavy overcast. The nut being wett, and the difuse light really helped to show the texture of the gnaw marks and the internals and all....
Maybe I should rotate the image, so are not distracted by the face-like appearance.
