A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My mother in law asked me if I could replace the crumbling power cord on an old 8mm film projector she had so she could watch some really old films they have...
Cord replaced. I couldn't resist taking some pictures before I put the cover back on.

This is the reason I can't ride now...

I stopped by here twice this month, as I was working in the area.. Great Falls in Paterson. I need to spend more time here or move on. I couldn't get any views that I really loved, but was in a bit of a rush both times.

I wouldn't consider it worth taking the hour plus ride on my own time to go here. Interesting that a couple months ago I was at the other end of the Passaic River where it was maybe 20 feet wide. Yesterday was interesting in that we had heavy rain the the falls were ripping compared to the last time I was there.

Thanks.
Scott, its probably not worh a trip just for that. Its a small park surrounded by a city, and as far as cities go Parerson isn't a great one. Those falls and the goegraphy made Paterson a player back in the industrial revolution days. There are some interesting ruins nearby. Old buildings, water raceways that provided hydro power, etc. I spoke to a young man while there and he said its possible to get into the old buildings thru holes in the fence, etc but its too unfamiliar to me and too far from home to take a chance.

Some info on the park.

Shot I took a few days ago for "Trees" (but entered a different shot).
The limbs in foreground, are limbs that have broken and fallen.
I kinda like it, but realize is kinda strange, and would be of limited appeal to most folks.

Great, Sandy,
Impressive eagle shot. Includes part of the nest.
I was wondering how much of a tele. I see is a 75-300mm zoom, and that shot taken at about 200mm.

That's correct and because it was taken with my GX85 that equates to about 400mm in real life. What's funny is that I took this one about 5 minutes before the other one. It is the other's partner chowing down on what is probably a tasty duck and I can just image the other eagle giving the old stink eye to the partner that was about 100 meters away wondering why supper wasn't being delivered. LOL.
