    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks Steve. I like it that way too. It's fast enough to do some distance but still slow enough to soak up the scenery.

Dave R, nice shot. Am I wrong or can I just see the shadow of a drone in the water below the canoe? I may have to get my son's drone out and start playing with it.

Good eye Rich. Its a DJI Mini2 hovering about 20 feet off the deck.

I have had a lot of fun the last 2 weeks seeing with a new eye country I've visited regularly for 30 years. Mostly stills, fooling only with ISO and speed, because video takes way more skill than I have. Good video requires good piloting with accurate, smoooth control, with constant twiddling of sticks and thumbwheel for go up, go down, fly sideways, look sideways, and camera up/down, all the time composing and setting up for what is coming.

These two pics were taken at sunset when there was a brief burst of light from between the clouds and horizon.

Nice. A few years our shop had some sort of ad agency come out to to do some still shots and video for the company website. The drone operator's skill was quite impressive.

Really cool shots Dave. We can definitely now appreciate why you've got a motor on your canoe. That's a lot of water down there.

Thanks Sandy. Its 15 miles from the landing to the cabin.

Glenn, I have a newfound appreciation for the operator abilities in movies and youtube video now. Good cinemagraphic shots are difficult to create, easy to watch.

This gadget is great for amateurs. There are lots of image editing programs available, but even the company app for the phone is way more than I can use. These pics are unedited except for crop and file size.

Excellent image of the Pale Swallowtail Sandy. My guess is there is a row of field guides on your bookshelf. Good stuff. :)

Thanks Bob and Dave. Yeah we've got a bunch of guides gathering dust. Haven't used them much since discovering Google though. LOL.
