    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

I was handed down some things that belonged to my great grandfather and this was in the box that contained mostly small boxes of mixed nuts and bolts, nails and screws???

Just another boring, overdone sunrise photo.... .
.
.kr

I enjoyed it. I noticed that was color in sky, and reflected in water (that doesnt alway happen). ANd you caught the wave receeding such that the sand was still wett and that also reflected the sunrise color.

But, then again, I am a boring guy. So... . . . . .

WHen you turn the crank, does the end rotate some in one direction then not as much in other direction -- and repeats one way more then other way as you continue to turn the crank in same direction..
If so, that seem like a valve seat lapping tool. But seems like something is missing, or maybe the end screws off (or used to).

I had to check...lol

It's kinda hard to crank, but it seems to do what you described.

Thanks for info.

Just another boring, overdone sunrise photo.... it was a very enjoyable, short outing before the workday started.
Sunrise by Glen Brenner, on Flickr

You young fellers may think another sunrise can b boring, (great shot  love the colour spread, but more panorama would make it greater), get to my age another sunrise is the best thing in the world, rain, hail or sunshine:D

Thanks. My saying "boring sunrise or sunset" is tongue in cheek. I generally enjoy watching them more then photographing them. It's such an overdone topic that in my opinion for a picture of one to stand out it has to be spectacular. I think this one fits the bill.

It looks like a picture that could be on the cover of a romance novel or a inspirational book!
Great photo!

Hello from Pawley's Island, SC.....

Great photo Bob, love the shadows, looks like a fun place. As we got our first snow of year today and we have a 400 mile drive tomorrow through the mountains to go visit our granddaughters. I'll have the camera ready to take pictures of the off road excursions. Stay tuned.

Plastic barrel park district uses for garbage cans, can has a chain going to a post, I guess so Plastic barrel doesn't walk away.

Guess this guy climbed up the post and into the barrel and couldn't get out.

So I tipped the barrel enough that the critter could get out and run back into nearby woods.

You can see the ship name there.
Is 766ft, about the biggest one that comes in here. Has stern thrusters and bow thrusters so can make the turns in the river channel. (that propeller looking symbol on the side there is to indicate presents and location of the bow thruster).

The first shorebird image is a really fine image. Clean and simple with all elements perfectly balanced. Well done Bob.

Random stray cat that's been hanging around last few days... wondering if it lives nearby or thinks this could be its new home ??
