A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This of course is the Houston skyline, I apologize for the picture, it didn't quite come out the way I wanted. The last time I had been to this spot to take pictures the pine trees were not there. I rode around the city and could not find a clear unobstructed view of the skyline without stopping on the freeway so I decided to go with what I have.
A skyline view of your city! I know there are numerous skylines that are very picturesque AND we have people in these areas like San Francisco, LA, Denver, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, DC, Dallas and Seattle.

Sorry about the dirty bike, haven't had a chance to wash it in a couple months:D

Linus?

If you are refereing to Peanuts characters; Linus was the kid with the blanket, Lucys brother. Pigpen was the guy with a dirt cloud around him.

Hey Wacky , you beat me by a couple of hours. Just got home from a 350 mile ride stopped to get the tag on the way back. I'll post it as its a neat little Veterans Memorial honoring WI veterans.

Lockheed T33 or F80

Also at the memorial are a T60 "Patton" tank and a Huey helicopter

Really nice pictures, now I feel bad after you rode 350 miles, hopefully it wasn't specifically for the tag:(
I guess the real point is that you enjoyed your ride.

I just noticed in your stable you have a '79 CX500C, I had one of those, a '79 CX500C that was Dark Candy Apple Blue, it was the only year they offered that color, excellent bike - extremely dependable, easy to ride, smooth and comfortable and very good on gas, wish I still had it but totaled it out - they fixed it (they repaired or replaced everything but the engine and rear wheel) but it was never the same after that ended up trading it in.

The pictures were incidental to the ride. :p Left early to watch the Rock Aquajays Water ski Show Team (we are members and my son skies) compete in the WI state division 1 tournament. The lake where the tournament's held is about 170 miles from my house.

I only had to detour about a mile on my way home to get the pictures. ;) Glad you could get the tag. I may work on the new one a bit latter.:D

Our CX500C is the same dark blue that you had. My 19 yo daughters 1st bike and she loves it. Bonus was I only pd $550.00 and all it needed was tires and a good cleaning.

That's it :D mine was the exact same color, I'll have to see if I can find a picture of the one I had.

My daughter wants a bike but my wife says no.

My daughter wants a bike but my wife says no.

It's actually mt wife's fault that my daughter rides. :) She thought it would be good if my daughter took the MSF basic riders course, got her license and gained some experience while still at home. We live in a rural area and she actually rides with me often. Her confidence level continues to increase as her riding skills continue to develop.

Well, I've been so busy I haven't been on the forum in forever, it seems. I guess I can't get the next tag without going down to the Twin Cities, and that won't be until next weekend. Oh well, there'll be another tag to get then. Next weekend is our 36th anniversary and I'm combining it with doing an advanced riding course, called the Civilian Police Motorcycle Course, offered by one of the St. Paul motor officers (a trainer for the real thing in the St. Paul Police force) that is also a rider coach in our Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center (MSF) of which I'm a part. we'll be "camping" in our motorhome at Mystic Lake Casino again, and we're going to take in a comedy show on Saturday night at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.:)

The next tag:
...
This of course is the Houston skyline, ....

Last evening I rode to a spot up on a hill were can get bike on an observation deck that overlooks the river channell and all of Grand Haven, but, ah, er, um, could not see the buildings of downtown, ah, er, the trees are taller than the 2 stories buildings. So, that would not qualify, eh.

.

Ask and you shall receive, the San Francisco skyline, I believe as shot from a famous movie location (think ford mustang and Mr. McQueen)

gsridegame006-1.jpg

and for the next tag, how about a place that most of us who have been driving long enough have ended up at one time or another (though usually our bikes don't accompany us) a hospital emergency room, not required but you get extra points for getting a police vehicle in the shot

gsridegame009-1.jpg

I figured since most would consider this bad karma, I'd put this tag behind us.....even with hospital security trying to push me along!

Next up, monster truck (or mini-monster), but tires have to be taller than your bike.
Maybe I'll rig up my wife's S10 Blazer like this one.:-k
IMG-20110726-00025.jpg

Lurch, I thought about the bad karma thing but I've always believed what a great philosopher from the far east once said; "my karma ran over your dogma"

Here is the large truck:

And here is the next tag: At a fairground. (I think we may have done this one, but I'm sure it was last season if we did).

Something to get you out earlier....a sunrise in any setting. Has to be fairly close to the horizon, so no late sleeper 10am sunrises, unless it's coming up over the mountain! If you can get past the morning chill, it's the best time to ride.

IMG-20110728-00030.jpg

Oh, and you guys in Europe have a 6 hour jump on the US east coast for the sunrise tag....so get your butt up early tomorrow! :D
